Romans 5:6-8 NKJV

For when we were still without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. For scarcely for a righteous man will one die; yet perhaps for a good man someone would even dare to die. But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

How great is God’s love for us! As Paul said, you can imagine someone giving up his life to save a good person but God gave up His life to save sinners. Paul said this was a demonstration of the kind of love God has for us. We really don’t need anything else to forever express gratitude for. When He gave His life for us through Jesus Christ, it guaranteed a wonderful eternity when we accept the free gift of His grace. Think of how short life is. When we were children it seemed like it would take forever to become an adult. However, after we passed 21 we began to talk about how time flies. The birthdays seem to come faster and faster and before long we are enjoying the winter season of our lives, preparing for transition to the other side. But when we cross that finish line, there is no end to our lives in glory. The songwriter said, “When we’ve been there 10,000 years, bright shining as the sun, we’ve no less days to sing God’s praise than when we first begun!” Yes, the biggest thing we should be grateful for is the fact the Jesus took our place so we could live eternally with Him. Thank you, Lord for your great and marvelous love for us.
