Jeremiah 17:7- (NKJV)

Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, and whose hope is the Lord. For he shall be like a tree planted by the waters, which spreads out its roots by the river, and will not fear when heat comes; but its leaf will be green, and will not be anxious in the year of drought, nor will cease from yielding fruit.

The prophet said the man who trusts and hopes in the Lord is blessed. He will be stable like a tree planted by the waters and will have no need to fear when heat, or trouble comes. In the midst of difficulties, he will not become anxious but will continue to progress and be productive. Why is that? Because God is able and willing to aid those who depend on Him, whose roots go down in Him. We need to practice trusting God until we get good at it – until it becomes the only way we know how to act. When difficulties come we have a choice. Will we complain or will we praise? Will we talk about how big the problem is or will be talk about how big God is. Will we meditate on what might happen to us if we do not get help or will be meditate on what God said about the situation and expect his divine intervention? Let us not choose the things that will nurse and increase our fears. Let’s choose to do the things that take us away from fear into faith – the things that build trust in God.
