Romans 12:12 NKJV

Rejoicing in hope, patient in tribulation, continuing steadfast in prayer

Paul wrote to the church at Rome and exhorted them to do things that would help them live victoriously. Among the things he encouraged them to do was to continue steadfast in prayer. In other words, he wanted them to pray constantly. We need to have the attitude of constant prayer, understanding that prayer involves asking God for help as well as praising and thanking Him for His goodness and worshiping Him for who He is. Between those 3 things we should never run out of things to pray about. Then we can pray with our spirit to allow God to use us to pray for things we don’t know how to pray for or, as Paul said, “give thanks well.” (1 Corinthians 14:16-17) We can run out words in English when worshiping God because He is so great. Thank God we can then worship Him in our heavenly language. All throughout the day, in one form or another we can be steadfast in prayer, keeping ourselves aware of the presence of God who never leaves nor forsakes us.
