James 5:14-15 NKJV

Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven.

The apostle James wrote to the church and addressed the subject of praying for the sick. He recommended that the sick ask the elders of the church to pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of Jesus. He said the prayer that is prayed in faith would have a desired result. The sick would be raised up by the Lord. If there was sin involved he would be forgiven. No matter what our need is, prayer is a remedy. However, the prayer must be a faith prayer. The fact that James said that the prayer of faith would save the sick shows the church believed it was God’s will to heal the sick. It is not possible to pray in faith without knowing what God’s will is. Once we know the will of God we are able to pray with confidence, expecting results. May God help us get a revelation of His will so our prayers can be faith prayers.
