Matthew 20:31 NKJV

Then the multitude warned them that they should be quiet; but they cried out all the more, saying, "Have mercy on us, O Lord, Son of David!"

This is the story of 2 blind men who pursued Jesus until they received their sight. They cried out for mercy and refused to be silent until they got Jesus' attention, and were blessed by Him. As we read the gospels, we see over and over people coming after Jesus looking for His help, asking for mercy. They recognized that healing, deliverance, etc. was a mercy. It was something they could not do for themselves. It was something Jesus was anointed to do. So they looked to Him for mercy. May we never forget that everything we need from the Lord comes to us as a result of mercy. Regardless of how much we think we have a right to the blessings of God, it all goes back to mercy. Even the rights we have came by mercy. May the Lord have mercy on all of us as we humble ourselves before Him.
