Health & Fitness Ministry

The Health and Fitness Ministry of VCC seeks to improve the quality of life for all believers through health promotion and disease prevention via four main goals:

  • To improve the current state of health of believers

  • To assume a proactive role in heightening the health consciousness of every believer

  • To design and implement fitness programs such as aerobics, boot camps, and weight training that enhance and promote cardiovascular endurance, strength and flexibility.

  • To enhance and empower every believer to live a health conscious lifestyle.

If you are interested in serving in this ministry please consider the service areas below:

Health - health professionals educate the church body about health and nutrition through literature, church articles, and availability to answer related questions.  They also stock first aid kits throughout the church, respond to medical emergencies during church services, and host periodic health fairs.  All members stay up-to-date in basic life support.

Fitness - certified members supervise separate male and female weight training sessions in the weight room.  Certified ladies' aerobics instructors teach classes three or four times a week (see Ladies Aerobics Class description).  The men have a fitness Boot Camp program which is also led by certified instructors, to improve their strength and total health (see Men's Boot Camp description).

A monthly meeting is usually held the third Sunday of each month.

Ladies Aerobics Class

Is an extension of the Health and Fitness Ministry. Aerobics classes are taught by certified instructors, the classes help ladies develop healthy, strong bodies and achieve their weight and body-toning goals in a caring, nurturing environment.  Evening classes are held each week in the VCC After School Gym, 7130 Old Pineville Road and special programs are offered periodically. Classes are open to the public.
