The Unseen Realm Part 9

Ephesians 2:4-6 NKJV

But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us,  even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus,

Paul states that God who loves us greatly raised us up and made us sit in heavenly places in Christ. That is a spiritual position. But is it a place the Lord has us in without relevance to this life on earth? Absolutely not! However, it’s obviously not a physical place, but a spiritual one. Therefore, in order for us to benefit from it, we must go into the realm of the unseen. We must understand a seat represents position and authority. The leader of a country has a seat. For example, the president of the USA has a seat in the Oval Office in Washington, D.C. He does not physically sit in that seat constantly, but he operates from it. The fact that it is his seat gives him authority to function in all the powers of his governmental position. So it is with those of us who are in Christ. We have a seat in Heaven that indicates our position and authority. Our seat gives us access to the throne of God where we can plead our case and discuss matters with the Ruler of the Universe. More importantly, we can take orders from the King of Kings and Lord of Lords and fulfill our assignment with confidence. Let us picture ourselves in that seat and act accordingly.

The Unseen Real Part 8

Ezekiel 8:12 NKJV

Then He said to me, “Son of man, have you seen what the elders of the house of Israel do in the dark, every man in the room of his idols? For they say, ‘The Lord does not see us, the Lord has forsaken the land.’”

The prophet Ezekiel was shown a vision by God. People were doing wicked things and saying that the Lord didn’t see them. One of the things we have to realize about the unseen realm is that beings in that realm can see us. It should be comforting to us when we know we are doing our best to do what is right. Then we don’t have to be afraid of God watching us. We cannot hide from Him. That knowledge should help us to make right choices. However, it should also help us draw closer to God. James 4:8 tells us to draw near to God and He will draw near to us. When we think about drawing near to God, it is easier if we realize He is not that far away. He is close enough to see everything we are doing. Getting close to the Lord is not a physical thing we do, it is spiritual. To get close to God, we must make our time with Him personal, not just official and formal. We can’t just repeat memorized prayers to God and expect to get close to Him. We have to talk to Him just like we would talk to a friend that is in the room with us. We have to engage in small talk and share our joys, sorrows, challenges, excitement, and admiration for Him as a Father, friend, Comforter, etc. It helps when we realize the unseen realm where God is happens to be so close that He can observe all we are doing.

The Unseen Realm Part 7

Ephesians 1:7 NKJV

In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace

We have to enter the unseen realm to be saved – born again by the Spirit of God. If we are saved, we did not see the crucifixion with our eyes, or witness the resurrection and ascension. We could not watch the blood of Jesus washing away our sins. We accepted all of it by faith, and then we realized the spiritual benefits. Every one of us who have been saved by the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross, have experienced a miraculous change in our lives that cannot be explained to the natural mind. We knew we were not the same anymore. How did we receive that transformation? We went into the unseen realm by faith and caused the spiritual gift of salvation to affect us in the natural realm. We must celebrate the benefits of salvation by faith. We were forgiven, and continue to receive forgiveness when we need it because of the blood Jesus shed for us. Let us thank God today for forgiveness and call ourselves forgiven.

The Unseen Realm Part 6

Ephesians 1:3 NKJV

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ,

Paul stated that God, our Father has blessed us (past tense) with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ. That means He has stored up for us everything we need, and some things just to enjoy. They are not hidden from us, but hidden for us. In order to access these blessings and enjoy them in the natural realm, we must get to them in the spirit realm. That means we have to enter the realm of the unseen and bring them into the seen realm by faith. That means we have to seek the Lord – pursue Him, press into our relationship with Him and His Word so our faith can become active and alive. Knowing the Lord is the most wonderful thing we can ever do.  Let us never give up, but keep pressing until we embrace every spiritual blessing that belongs to us.

The Unseen Realm Part 5

Ezekiel 4:3

Moreover take for yourself an iron plate, and set it as an iron wall between you and the city. Set your face against it, and it shall be besieged, and you shall lay siege against it. This will be a sign to the house of Israel.

Ezekiel was an Old Testament priest and prophet. He had to make a model of the city of Jerusalem and construct a wall and use an iron plate, as well as other items to illustrate the message God wanted to convey to the Israelites. It would actually look like a grown man playing with toys. Nevertheless, Ezekiel trusted God and walked in the realm of the unseen. He did as he was told and did not care what people thought about him. 1 Corinthians 1:27 tells us, “But God has chosen the foolish things of the world to put to shame the wise…” 1 Corinthians 4:10 says, “We are fools for Christ’s sake…” When you look at the seemingly foolish things Ezekiel did when he obeyed God, you can understand that in order to walk in the realm of the unseen you cannot be concerned about how you look. You may look foolish sometimes when you obey God, but you cannot care what people think, but only what God thinks.

The Unseen Realm Part 4

Esther 4:16 NKJV

[16] "Go, gather all the Jews who are present in Shushan, and fast for me; neither eat nor drink for three days, night or day. My maids and I will fast likewise. And so I will go to the king, which is against the law; and if I perish, I perish!"

Esther was told by her uncle to approach the king on behalf of the Jews who were sentenced to death by a wicked employee of the king. Esther hesitated because she would be risking her life to do that. Her Uncle Mordecai warned her that refusing to take that chance would not guarantee her own safety. Esther decided to enter the realm of the unseen and put her own life on the line to save her people. Many times we may be challenged with entering the unseen realm due to fear. However, like Esther, we must realize that there is no guarantee that we will be saved ourselves if we fail to fulfill our calling. We must seek God for His will and be willing to say like Esther, "If I perish, I perish." We must be willing to give our all, including laying down our lives for the cause of Christ.
