The king and Jehoiada gave it to those who did the work of the service of the house of the Lord; and they hired masons and carpenters to repair the house of the Lord, and also those who worked in iron and bronze to restore the house of the Lord.
Years after King Asa restored the altar of the Lord in the temple, King Joash, who was only seven years old when he became king, ordered major repair to be done to the house of the Lord because of what wicked leadership had done before his reign. Restoration on our part towards the Lord is not a one-time thing. From time to time we have to examine ourselves and see if things have gotten out of order and put things back in order where necessary. That is why we must stay in the Word constantly. The Word shines light on areas that need attention.
