Peace I leave with you. My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
Jesus told His disciples He was giving them His peace. He emphasized that it was not the kind of peace the world can offer. Then He commanded them to not allow their hearts to be troubled or afraid. If our hearts are troubled or afraid, we are not enjoying the peace Jesus gave us. We are operating on common world level peace. Let us embrace the peace of Jesus and refuse to do without it until we can keep our hearts calm and confident as described by the psalmist David in Psalm 27:1-3. It's funny, but as I was writing this, I began to hear and see a lightning storm like I have never seen before in my life. It sounded abnormal!. I smiled and said, "This is a test." Here I am writing about not letting your heart be troubled or afraid and a very frightening storm hits. I love it! We need opportunities to know where we are spiritually so we can get help if we need it and not fool ourselves.
