📖 Blessed be the Lord, who daily loadeth us with benefits, even the God of our salvation. Selah. —Psalm 68:19 KJV

Have you received your benefits today? Every day, God wants to unleash His goodness on us. He desires us to be beneficiaries of His kindness. Every good gift and every perfect gift come from Him. As believers, every day is a good day. As children of God, we expect something good to happen to us. We should expect His favor. We should expect Him to supply our daily bread. The world expects gifts on certain days. They expect gifts on birthdays, Father’s Day, Mother’s Day, etc. We should expect something good to happen to us every day because He loads us daily with benefits. God is good.

📖 After Jesus had finished all that He had to say in the hearing of the people [on the mountain], He entered Capernaum.

Now a centurion had a bond servant who was held in honor and highly valued by him, who was sick and at the point of death.

And when the centurion heard of Jesus, he sent some Jewish elders to Him, requesting Him to come and make his bond servant well.
—Luke 7:1-3 AMPC

The centurion was in a desperate situation. One of his servants, who was very dear to him, was about to die. The situation looked hopeless. It reminds you of the story of the woman with the issue of blood. She had been to several doctors and instead of getting better, she got worse. Just like the woman with the issue of blood, the centurion heard of Jesus. Something happens when you hear of Jesus. When you hear of Jesus properly, it is supposed to give you hope. When you hear the Word of God, it should give you hope as well. The centurion had so much confidence in who Jesus was (and is), he told Him that he didn’t have to come to his house. He only needed Jesus to speak the word only. He understood the authority that Jesus walked in. He understood the spoken word. We also must hear of Jesus properly. We must hear about God properly. Things change when we do. They will turn around for the better.

📖 And to one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one, to each according to his own ability; and immediately he went on a journey. Then he who had received the five talents went and traded with them, and made another five talents. And likewise he who had received two gained two more also. But he who had received one went and dug in the ground, and hid his lord’s money. After a long time the lord of those servants came and settled accounts with them.

“So he who had received five talents came and brought five other talents, saying, ‘Lord, you delivered to me five talents; look, I have gained five more talents besides them.’ His lord said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant; you were faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord. —Matthew 25:15-21 NKJV

What are you doing with the talents that God has given you? Are you working to unleash your full potential? Are you working to become a valuable member of the Body of Christ? We must be about our Father’s business. Jesus, as a little boy, was in the temple learning and asking questions. He was diligent about His purpose at a young age. We must do the same. We must continue to be diligent and faithful. Once we have proven ourselves in doing this, God will reward us with greater responsibilities, which always come with even greater rewards. Many times, we want more without passing the faithfulness test. We must be like Paul—forgetting the things that are behind, we must press toward the mark. We can be all that God wants us to be if we are willing to pay the price. The faithfulness fee is what will grant us access to greater things. Are you willing to pay the price?

📖 Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the Lord. —Psalm 27:14 KJV

Do you like waiting? Alot of us don’t. We don’t want to wait at the doctor’s office. We don’t want to wait in line for coffee, or to get something to eat. However, if we are to experience God’s best, we must learn how to play the waiting game. We will play the waiting game for the rest of our lives. When we move prematurely, it can cost us a lot. Abraham and Sarah couldn’t wait on God and produced Ishmael. Saul couldn’t wait for Samuel and he sacrificed without him. That cost him dearly. Sometimes we don’t want to wait on God. We know that He is working behind the scenes, but it appears as if He is taking too long. Would you like to experience God’s best, wait on the Lord. Are you waiting for an answer to prayer? Wait on the Lord. Waiting is good for us. It causes the fruit of the spirit to kick in. God may not move when you want Him to, but He is always on time. Don’t force the process, allow the process to do its job. Wait on the Lord and be of good courage, wait I say on the Lord.

📖 I appeal to you for my [own spiritual] child, Onesimus [meaning profitable], whom I have begotten [in the faith] while a captive in these chains.

Once he was unprofitable to you, but now he is indeed profitable to you as well as to me.

I am sending him back to you in his own person, [and it is like sending] my very heart.
—Philemon 1:10-12 AMPC

The good thing about people is that they can change. One can be unprofitable one day, and over time, they can change and become an asset. People can grow up. They can mature. They can become a better version of themselves over time. That is why we have to be patient with people. That is why we extend grace. People can make mistakes as they mature. We must be patient with people the way God is patient with us. God is long suffering. We must be the same. There are examples all throughout the Bible of people who changed over time. John Mark was an example. In Acts 13, he left Paul after an encounter with a sorcerer. In Acts 15, Paul and Barnabas had a disagreement because Paul did not want John Mark to accompany them anymore on their missionary journeys.  Notice the change that took place with Paul concerning John Mark in II Timothy 4:11: “Only Luke is with me. Take Mark, and bring him with thee: for he is profitable to me for the ministry.” Paul, at that time, requested John Mark's presence because he had become profitable for ministry. There was a change in John Mark’s life. God had brought him to a place where he was ready for ministry. God will do the same for us. Don’t focus on what you are now. Focus on what you can become. You can become a vessel, fit for the Master’s use.

📖 When the Woman saw that the tree looked like good eating and realized what she would get out of it—she’d know everything!—she took and ate the fruit and then gave some to her husband, and he ate.

Immediately the two of them did “see what’s really going on”—saw themselves naked! They sewed fig leaves together as makeshift clothes for themselves.

When they heard the sound of God strolling in the garden in the evening breeze, the Man and his Wife hid in the trees of the garden, hid from God.

—Genesis 3:6-8 The Message

If you sin, don’t run from God, run to God. If you miss the mark, don’t hide from God, talk to God. God doesn’t want to beat you over the head because you messed up. He wants to restore you. He wants to re-establish you and place you in right standing with Him. The Bible tells us that when we sin, we should confess our sin. When we do, God is faithful and just to forgive us of our sin and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness (I John 1:9). Satan is the accuser of the brethren (Revelation 12:10). He is the condemner. He wants to remind you of your sin. He wants you to develop a sin consciousness. That’s not God. God is a God of mercy and grace. He wants to cleanse you of that sin. He doesn’t even remember it once you have confessed it. Sin doesn’t have to separate you from God. Don’t make sin a lifestyle. Confess it and get rid of it. You are the righteousness of God. Don’t allow sin to have dominion over you. You overcome it. You overcome it by the Blood of the Lamb and the Word of your testimony.

📖 The Lord will not allow the righteous to hunger [God will meet all his needs], But He will reject and cast away the craving of the wicked. ⎯Proverbs 10:3 AMPC

The Lord knows how to meet our needs. He will not allow us to go hungry when we put our trust in Him. God fed Elijah by sending the ravens to bring him food in the morning and the evening. Jesus multiplied fish and bread and fed thousands of people. God fed the Israelites manna in the wilderness, and there were 2-3 million people. God is not moved by famine or our circumstances. God is moved by faith. He changes circumstances, and He will change yours if you believe Him to do so. His eyes are looking throughout the earth to show Himself strong on behalf of those whose heart is perfect towards Him (II Chronicles 16:9).

📖 When God made his promise to Abraham, he backed it all the way, putting his own reputation on the line. He said, “I promise that I’ll bless you with everything I have—bless and bless and bless!” Abraham stuck it out and got everything that had been promised to him. When people make promises, they guarantee them by appeal to some authority above them so that if there is any question that they’ll make good on the promise, the authority will back them up. When God wanted to guarantee his promises, he gave his word, a rock-solid guarantee—God can’t break his word. And because his word cannot change, the promise is likewise unchangeable. —Hebrews 6:13-18 The Message

God wants us blessed! Isn’t that exciting? He desires that we prosper and be in health, even as our soul prospers. (III John 2) Many times we miss out on the Blessing because it seems like it is taking too long. Sometimes the devil may try to jump on our shoulders and whisper, “God won’t keep His Word this time”? The devil is a liar. God always keeps His Word. It is impossible for Him to lie. When you feel like giving up, think about Abraham. He stuck it out. He stuck it out and got everything that had been promised to him. We must be like Abraham. If we stick it out, we will get everything that we have been promised. Remember, God cannot break His Word.

📖 Be careful what you think [Above all that you guard, protect your heart], because ·your thoughts run your life [life flows from it]. —Proverbs 4:23 The Expanded Bible

Guard your mind and guard your heart. It has been said that “your life goes in the direction of your most dominate thoughts”. This is one reason why we must be careful what we think about. We don’t want negative thoughts to infiltrate our hearts. If we allow those negative thoughts to get into our hearts eventually, we will start to speak those thoughts and we will have what we say. (Mark 11:23) The mouth will speak whatever the heart is full of (Luke 6:45). As believers, we walk by faith and not by sight or appearance (II Corinthians 5:7). We keep our eyes on the Word and not on what we see in this natural world. God’s Word will change what we see. We must get His Word on our minds and in our hearts. Guard your mind and your heart. If it doesn’t line up with the Word don’t think about it. We should do what Philippians 4:8 says: For the rest, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is worthy of reverence and is honorable and seemly, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely and lovable, whatever is kind and winsome and gracious, if there is any virtue and excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think on and weigh and take account of these things [fix your minds on them].

📖 And David perceived that the Lord had established him king over Israel and that He had exalted his kingdom for His people Israel’s sake. —2 Samuel 5:12 AMPC

David was a gift sent by God to be a blessing to the people. He recognized that God had sent him for the benefit of the people. God’s people are to be a blessing to the world. We are His ambassadors and His representatives. When God sends us to a company, a job, a school, or an organization, we are a gift sent to them. Daniel was a gift to the people even though he was in captivity. He was a blessing to every king that he served under. Jephthah was a gift to the people. Nehemiah was a gift to the people. These men were leaders and helped to bring freedom and restoration to their respective people. Organizations should get better because of us. Sinners should desire the kingdom of God because of how we carry ourselves. We must understand that God sends us to have influence. This should not cause us to walk in pride. This should cause us to walk in humility because we have been chosen by God to represent Him. We did not choose ourselves. It is humbling to know that the God of the universe has chosen us to be His representatives. What a sobering thought!

📖 Now when the time was approaching for Him to be taken up [to heaven], He was determined to go to Jerusalem [to fulfill His purpose]. —Luke 9:51 AMP

Just like Jesus, there comes times in our lives where we must be determined to fulfill whatever God has set before us. Jesus would not let anything distract him from fulfilling his purpose down here on earth. There are so many distractions in our day that would take our focus away from our mission. We must be like Jesus in our attitude and mindset when it comes to the high calling God has for us. We must fight to stay locked into that which God has placed before us. Let us continue to pursue the divine destiny God has for us.

📖 Wherefore, O King Agrippa, I was not disobedient unto the heavenly vision,

But made known openly first of all to those at Damascus, then at Jerusalem and throughout the whole land of Judea, and also among the Gentiles, that they should repent and turn to God, and do works and live lives consistent with and worthy of their repentance.

Because of these things the Jews seized me in the temple [enclosure] and tried to do away with me.

[But] to this day I have had the help which comes from God [as my ally], and so I stand here testifying to small and great alike, asserting nothing beyond what the prophets and Moses declared would come to pass—
—Acts 26:19-22 AMPC

Isn’t it nice to have God as an ally? Many foreign leaders find security in who their allies are. They know that wherever they fall short, they can depend on their allies to make up the difference. If they find themselves in conflict with another nation, they can count on their allies for assistance. We have an ally in God. He knows how to make up for the difference when things fall short. He is there for us when we need assistance. When we are obedient to the heavenly vision, the vision that God has for our lives, we can trust that God will give us the help we need when we need it. When we are submissive to the will of God and the leadership of the Holy Spirit, we can depend on God and His resources. As we are pursuing the heavenly vision, we must come to realization that we cannot fulfill it without God. His assistance is non-negotiable. We need Him.

📖 The fundamental fact of existence is that this trust in God, this faith, is the firm foundation under everything that makes life worth living. It’s our handle on what we can’t see. The act of faith is what distinguished our ancestors, set them above the crowd.
—Hebrews 11:1-2 The Message

Our faith in God is the foundation under everything that makes life worth living. God has given us the measure of faith, that when developed, will overcome everything that is negative in this world. Faith in God is simply faith in His Word. Our confidence in God’s Word and His integrity will cause us to be set above the crowd. It will cause us to be the head and not the tail, above only and not beneath. Faith will cause you to experience what others do not. Learning to trust God causes our lives to be worth living. Confidence in God’s Word will cause us to live a life that would not be possible in the natural. It is our faith in God that will always cause us to triumph. It is that type of confidence that allows God to do exceedingly, abundantly above all that we could ever ask or think. Now that is a life that is truly worth living.

📖 However, I am telling you nothing but the truth when I say it is profitable (good, expedient, advantageous) for you that I go away. Because if I do not go away, the Comforter (Counselor, Helper, Advocate, Intercessor, Strengthener, Standby) will not come to you [into close fellowship with you]; but if I go away, I will send Him to you [to be in close fellowship with you].

But when He, the Spirit of Truth (the Truth-giving Spirit) comes, He will guide you into all the Truth (the whole, full Truth). For He will not speak His own message [on His own authority]; but He will tell whatever He hears [from the Father; He will give the message that has been given to Him], and He will announce and declare to you the things that are to come [that will happen in the future].

He will honor and glorify Me, because He will take of (receive, draw upon) what is Mine and will reveal (declare, disclose, transmit) it to you.
—John 16:7, 13-14 AMPC

We are not alone. We have been given a Helper. Jesus stated that He had to go so that He could send a Helper. He sent someone to be in close fellowship with us. That someone is the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is not an emotion or a feeling. It is a person. Jesus said, “I will send Him to you”. The Holy Spirit will receive of Jesus and will share it with us. He will share things with us about the future. He will share things with us that are necessary. The Holy Spirit is our Helper, Comforter, Advocate, Strengthener and Standby. We are not in this by ourselves. We must utilize and take advantage of the help that God has sent us, and He has sent us the Holy Spirit.

📖 Nor [was this gift of theirs merely the contribution] that we expected, but first they gave themselves to the Lord and to us [as His agents] by the will of God [entirely disregarding their personal interests, they gave as much as they possibly could, having put themselves at our disposal to be directed by the will of God] —2 Corinthians 8:5 AMPC

Do you have the same attitude that these believers had? They gave themselves to the Lord, totally disregarding their personal interests. You know that can be difficult for a lot of believers. Many find it hard to disregard their personal interests. These believers were totally sold out to the Lord and His plan for their lives. The people gave of themselves and their resources. When you are totally sold out to the Lord, it becomes easy to give Him what you have. It is easy because you understand that everything belongs to Him anyway, and you are just a steward over what you have. It all belongs to Him. Even our bodies belong to God. The Bible tells us that we have been bought with a price (I Corinthians 6:20). Let’s examine our hearts today. Can you give it all away? Can you give more than what you have been giving? Can you do more for the Church? Are you willing to do more? The answer should be yes to all those questions. If you aren’t there yet, don’t worry. As you walk with God, you will eventually be able to say yes. God has been too good to us not to give it all. Didn’t He give it all for us?

📖 But he who did not know and did things worthy of a beating shall be beaten with few [lashes]. For everyone to whom much is given, of him shall much be required; and of him to whom men entrust much, they will require and demand all the more. —Luke 12:48 AMPC

To whom much is given, much is required. Many want to walk in a greater anointing. Many want promotion and more responsibility. But to whom much is given, much is required. Are you prepared for all that comes with the greater anointing, promotion, or responsibility? Are you able to handle the scrutiny that comes with the greater? There is a maturity that must take place to handle all that God wants us to walk in. You don’t send a ten-year-old to college. They wouldn’t be able to handle the course load, free time, or overall experience. College life would be overwhelming because of the lack of maturity to handle college life. You could send an eighteen or nineteen-year-old who has graduated from high school. They would be better prepared. The same could be said about the finer things in this life. We must be able to handle the expanded role in the job. We must walk in spiritual maturity to handle a greater anointing. Jesus began preparing for ministry at the age of twelve, but did not begin his public ministry until the age of thirty. Eighteen years of preparation for a three-and-a-half-year ministry that turned the world upside down and rocked Satan’s domain. Are you ready for more? Are you ready for greater responsibility? To whom much is given, much is required.

📖 Bless the Lord, O you his angels, you mighty ones who do his word, obeying the voice of his word! —Psalm 103:20 ESV

Are you putting your angels to work? Are you giving them something to do? The angels of God act on the Word of God. When they hear a person speaking or confessing the Word of God, they go to work. They stand at attention, ready to defend and protect. When a person confesses that “God will supply their needs” (Philippians 4:19), they work to make that a reality in the person's life. The angels work to cause the manifestation of the Word of God in the life of the individual who will confess it. In Daniel 10:12, the angel said to Daniel, “Fear not, Daniel: for from the first day that thou didst set thine heart to understand, and to chasten thyself before thy God, thy words were heard, and I am come for thy words.” Notice the angel came because of Daniel’s words. The angels will do the same for us when we speak in line with God’s Word.

📖 John replied, “God in heaven appoints each man’s work.”
—John 3:27 The Living Bible

What type of business are you in? Isn’t this a common question? Upon meeting a stranger, one of the first things we want to know is what they do for a living. Instead of asking what they do for a living, maybe the question should be asked, “Are you doing the work that God has appointed you?” A person may be successful in their field of endeavor, but are they in the field that God has selected for them? Are they doing the work appointed by God or are they doing the work they appointed for themselves? People select their occupation for many different reasons. Some are in their field because of the income it pays. Some are in their field because of the benefits. We want to be where God wants us to be because God knows what is best for lives. True success is in being in the will of God. We should constantly examine our lives and make sure we are in line with God. We want to be doing the work appointed by the God in heaven.

📖 So be very careful how you live, not being like those with no understanding, but live honorably with true wisdom, for we are living in evil times. Take full advantage of every day as you spend your life for His purposes.
—Ephesians 5:15-16 The Passion Translation

Despite living in evil times, we can still live a life in which we fulfill our God given purpose. Evil times are no excuse to fall short in accomplishing all that God desires for us to accomplish. We are to take full advantage of every day that we have. Every day that we are given is a day to get better. It is a day to get wiser. It is a day closer to the fulfillment of the will of God. We must be aware of every distraction and avoid them. We must avoid everything that will draw us away from fulfilling our purpose. Every believer should desire to hear, “Well done, thy good and faithful servant”. Examining how we live our lives and taking advantage of the days that we are given will bring us closer to hearing those wonderful words.

📖 When the other ten heard of this conversation, they lost their tempers with James and John. Jesus got them together to settle things down. “You’ve observed how godless rulers throw their weight around,” he said, “and when people get a little power how quickly it goes to their heads. It’s not going to be that way with you. Whoever wants to be great must become a servant. Whoever wants to be first among you must be your slave. That is what the Son of Man has done: He came to serve, not to be served—and then to give away his life in exchange for many who are held hostage.” —Mark 10:41-45 The Message

Two of Jesus’ disciples requested to sit on the right and left side of Jesus when He established His kingdom here on the earth. They wanted a position of greatness. Jesus eventually gave them a key to greatness. He told them that if they wanted to be great, they must first be willing to serve. Jesus even gave Himself as an example when He told the disciples that he did not come to be served, He came to serve. God has a purpose and a plan for all our lives. Regardless of how big the plan is, the plan is not self-serving. The plan is not to elevate you. You may be elevated in the eyes of the people, but the plan is ultimately to help people.

God loved us so much that He gave us Jesus. Jesus was treated like a king (and rightfully so, He is the king of kings) and yet He came to serve the people. God sent His best, and His best came to serve. We should follow His example. We have been sent into this world, equipped with gifts and talents that will be a blessing to humanity. Don’t keep them to yourself. Don’t be selfish. The world is waiting on the manifestation of the sons of God. The world is waiting on you!
