our Mission & Objectives

Victory Christian Center-Charlotte exists to honor and glorify God by obeying the Lord Jesus's command to make disciples of all people groups (See Matthew 28:18-20) and to minister to the Body of Christ (all ethnic groups, and varying backgrounds) for the purpose of perfecting the saints, edifying and unifying the Body of Christ.

We accomplish this mission through our objectives.

Specific Objectives:

  • To teach Christian believers who they are in Christ and what their rights, privileges and abilities are in Christ as described in the Word of God.

  • To equip them to go forth into their communities, jobs, etc., and revolutionize, by the Word of God, lives and circumstances.

  • To minister to the needs of the people by the power of the Holy Spirit and the gifts of the Spirit, as the Spirit wills.

  • To create an atmosphere conducive to the moving of the Holy Spirit and the manifestation of the gifts of the Spirit as recorded in I Corinthians 12.

  • To hold seminars and special meetings, bring in men and women that stand in the offices mentioned in Ephesians 4:11, so that people may mature spiritually.

  • To teach people how to pray and worship God in ways that are consistent with Scripture.

  • To use the media as a tool to take the gospel to all people.

Things you might see in our services and the scriptural reasons behind them:

Hands lifted up in praise to God

  • The Bible encouraged the lifting of hands to God in both the Old and New Testament.

  • "Lift up your hands in the sanctuary and bless the Lord." Psalm 134:2

  • "I desire therefore that the men pray everywhere, lifting up holy hands without wrath and doubting;" I Timothy 2:8

People singing or praying in another language

  • When there is corporate prayer or praise, you may hear some people expressing themselves to God in another language. It is a way born again believers are enabled to go beyond their natural vocabulary and communicate with God from their spirits. It's the initial evidence of being filled with the Spirit.

  • "For he who speaks in a tongue does not speak to men but to God, for no one understands him..." I Corinthians 14:2

  • "..I will pray with the spirit and I will pray with the understanding. I will sing with the spirit and I will also sing with the understanding." I Corinthians 14:14

The gifts of the Spirit in operation

I Corinthians 12:4-11 describes supernatural gifts that Christians are empowered to operate in under the direction and anointing of the Holy Spirit for the benefit of people. It is the mercy and goodness of God being displayed.

Prayer for the needs of individuals

You may see a prayer line and our ministry team putting their hands on people as they pray for them. They may use oil as they pray for those needing healing. These are just two of the ways the Bible shows us how to help people get their needs met. You can read Mark 6:13, Mark 16:15-18, Acts 28:8, and James 5:14-15 to learn more about these methods.

People falling down

There are instances in scripture where people fell because they encountered the power of God in such an unusual way. See examples in II Chronicles 5:13-14, John 18:5-6 and Acts 9:3-4.
