VCC Devotionals 8.2019-13.png

As His children, God has called us to "come out" of the world, its ways and customs and to instead come to and embrace Him. Just like any other good father, He loves us and wants the best for us. He has called us to live a life of holiness and through that lifestyle, we not only honor Him but we distinguish ourselves to the world that we are His children and belong to Him. Not only do we honor God in our physical bodies, but in our conversation, our daily habits and our thoughts. Commit today to let your light shine and to honor your Father in both your deeds and conversations so that the lost might know Him and be drawn to Him.

⁣ 🙌 🙌 BC (or BEFORE Christ), we were considered “Gentiles”. Because of Christ’s sacrifice for us on the cross over 2,000 years ago, we have been brought near to God and made one with Him (v.13-14), even though previously, sin separated us from God. Thank God that He brought the Gospel (the Good News) to us whether we were Jew or Greek. He thought about it, and counted each and every one of us worthy of saving and redeeming from the curse of the Law BEFORE we were even formed in our mother’s womb. Think about it: What great love God has to have for us, right?

Never doubt your worth or value to your Creator. He has shown us time and time again through His Word and through His actions, that we are loved, cherished and the apple of His eye (Zechariah 2:8, Psalm 17:8)! You have access to your Father today through the Holy Spirit. Don’t take it for granted. Stir up the gift and stay sensitive to your Father’s direction today. Have a blessed day!

Do you know who you are? Better yet, do you know WHOSE you are? You belong to God if you were born again into His family. He treasures you and has deemed you royalty, so hold your head up king/queen (Psalm 3:3; Proverbs 27:6)! If you were not “fit” for royalty, then God wouldn’t have proclaimed you to be “His people”; He cannot lie (Numbers 23:19).

God not only cares about our hearts, but He cares about our countenance. Does your life and mouth testify of the goodness of God? He cares about how we represent Him, as His “chosen” people, both in deed and in conversation. Who you identify with will eventually influence your decisions and how you live. May we accept and rest IN His love for us today and may He help us today to properly represent Him today both in word and deed.

It’s fruitless to worry and fear about tomorrow and our well being, when we are in the care and responsibility of such a loving and protective Heavenly Father (Matthew 6:25-27). He loves you unconditionally and gave His very best [His Son Jesus], as a result. Nothing can separate you from His love and nothing and no one is more powerful than He. He has ALL power!⁣

It’s #ThrowbackThursday, but the ultimate “throwback” memory that we [as believers] should hold close to our hearts is reminiscing on Who our Heavenly Father is and what His Son Jesus accomplished through His sacrifice. Salvation is a gift to us, but it’s the gift that keeps on giving. He loads us with benefits, His peace and favor DAILY. So rest in His love for you and commit your life afresh to Him today. It’s our reasonable service considering all He’s given.⁣

Been a little worried about the direction your life is heading in right now? Have concerns about whether or not you’ll ever fulfill God’s purpose for your life? Well, this is your reminder that your very steps are ordered by your Heavenly Father. It’s His pleasure to lead you, and He will sustain you every step of the way. Worry and doubt are the opposite of faith. So commit to starving your doubts by building your faith, strengthening your spirit man and growing in your knowledge of God’s Word. Never forget that God’s plans for your life are good (Jeremiah 1:5, 29:11) - He’s a GREAT, GREAT Father. Don’t take for granted the Heavenly prayer language that we have access to as His children. He is faithful to lead you and guide you. ⁣

🙌 Our Heavenly Father desires to be near us at all times. He wants to be “in our midst” and to work in and through us daily (John 14:12, Ephesians 2:10, Philippians 2:13). We only have to call His name and come to Him with a pure and humble heart. Regardless of where the paths of your feet tread today, commit your life to God and yield to Him for wisdom in your decision-making. When you do, you set the scene for Him to act on your behalf (Psalm 37:5, Proverbs 3:5-6). Trust in Him. He is ALL that you need. Have a blessed day.⁣⁣

Not only is it God’s desire that we come to Him with our concerns, requests, He also desires for us to have a heart of expectancy and trust that He will answer us and honor His Word.

⁣⁣

🙏🏼 So, this morning, go to Him boldly (Hebrews 4:16). If it’s wisdom and guidance that you desire, then His Word affirms that if you go to Him in faith then He will give it to you (James 1:5). If it’s peace of mind (John 14:27) that you need, then it’s your Heavenly Father’s desire to give that to you as well. He’ll show you what to remove out of your life and what to add. He’ll even show you how to better represent Him as His ambassadors on earth. Trust that your Heavenly Father ALWAYS delights in your coming to Him. So go to Him with expectancy.⁣

When our focus is on representing our Heavenly Father well here on earth, then we will do our best to ensure that our “good name” is intact. How else can we properly represent One so powerful, faithful and worthy of all of our praises? Ironically, when we have a good name or reputation - be it on the job, with a lender or within your respective communities, you are looked upon more favorably and better opportunities will come your way. Oftentimes, the monetary amount of what is saved or given to you when you have the favor of God is on your life is of greater value to you in the end. ⁣

🙏 God, please give us the wisdom, strength and direction to represent you properly in our behavior, deeds and thoughts. Thank you for the favor that you have given us so freely and surrounded us with. We are forever grateful for your love for us.⁣

🙌 It’s encouraging to know that God is a “finisher”. He didn’t start calling creation - as we know it - into existence and then give up because He was tired or no longer inspired. Be encouraged that in a similar fashion, the work that God has begun IN you, whether it’s your purpose, a vision that God has given you or even Him helping you to make improvements in your life (Psalm 138:8), He will complete it. He has not and will not give up on you, so don’t you dare throw in the towel either! You can do all things with the help of the Lord (Philippians 4:13). ⁣

Pray to God for help with the faith and endurance to emulate the character of our Savior. You have nothing to fear. You have a sound mind and have been equipped with the power of God to complete any task today and moving forward in Jesus’ name (2 Timothy 1:7). HAPPY FRIDAY! ⁣⁣

Our world is changing and so is our culture. Every day, we are witness to drastic changes in religious beliefs, political stances, fashion and even our relationships with others. It’s so comforting to know that we can put our confidence, our plans - our lives in God’s hands knowing that we can trust Him and that He will never change. We never have to be concerned or worry about God going back on His Word. If He spoke it, He’ll bring it to past. He cannot and will not lie (Numbers 23:19). God will cover you and protect you. Stay connected to Him for wisdom and direction throughout the day. You’ve got His Word…He’ll never fail you. ⁣

God is not moved by outward appearances (I Samuel 16:7), He is moved by the condition of our hearts. When we earnestly seek God with all our hearts, He is moved to speak and reveal Himself to us. Take the time daily to pray in the spirit to stir up your spirit man. Seek God’s face in prayer and by meditating on His Word as desperately as a deer pants for water at a stream (Psalm 42:1). Only Jesus can quench our soul’s thirst.⁣⁣

God’s plan for our lives always has a greater purpose than we are naturally aware of. He is omniscient, and as a result, He knows the end from the beginning. So, commit your thoughtl-life to God by trusting Him holeheartedly. The more that we stay connected to our heavenly Father, the better we position ourselves for God to move in our lives and for Him to lead us were He wants us as His ambassadors. Trust that He knows best for your life.

The level of our confidence and faith in God will ultimately reveal itself through our actions and words. We serve the King of all kings and the Lord of all lords, who holds all power in His hand (Daniel 2:47, Matthew 28:18) ! NONE can compare to Him…period! ⁣⁣

So, when we see through His Word that He instructs us to be strong and courageous, we should be honored in rejoice in that Truth because it reveals God’s love for us and the delegated authority that we can walk in us believers. God has not and will not abandon you. His arm is not short (Isaiah 59:1), and He is well able to see you through. Trust His plans for your life and the instructions He has given to you. They are safe with Him, and He will not fail. ⁣⁣

As Christ’s ambassadors on earth, we are honored and charged with the great responsibility of acknowledging God - the One we represent - and committing the works of our hands to Him. Everything that we do [and the quality that we do it in] and even how we speak reflects our Heavenly Father. We are the hands and feet of Christ and the only “Jesus” that many will see. It’s important that we practice both trusting and asking Him on how to best honor Him in our representation. He loves us and as a result of His agape love for us, it’s His pleasure to guide, help and strengthen us with His righteous right hand (Isaiah 41:10).

⁣

Yes, it’s Sunday, but every day, it’s the heart of God that we stay connected with Him throughout the day so that He can lead us and give us wisdom. In doing so, we also build up our spirit man. Our relationship with God is the gift that keeps on giving. Put your confidence in Him and rest.

As believers in Christ, we have received a new identity, but have you truly embraced that identity? We belong to God, and our citizenship is in Heaven (Philippians 3:20). Our conversation, values and ways of doing things may appear to be foreign to this world the more we become like Christ and the fruits of the Spirit manifest themselves in our lives.

⁣ 🙌 Rejoice today that your identity is in Christ: you are redeemed from the curse of the law (Gal.3:13)! You are the righteousness of God (2 Cor. 5:21), you are THE healed (1 Peter 2:24), accepted (Ephesians 1:6), you have the mind of Christ (Philippians 2:5-8) and so much more! Meditate on who and Whose you are and your confidence on the authority that you have IN Christ will grow. ⁣

🙌 What is your mind focused on this morning?  It’s God’s desire that we not only trust Him but confidently rest in Him. When we do, we have God’s promise to have his “unbothered”, perfect peace (John 14:27). Redirect your thoughts, if need be, to focus on God’s love for you and on things that are true, honest, just, pure and lovely (Philippians 4:8). Allow God to mold your character and will into one that pleases and represents His kingdom accurately. We can expect God to intervene in our lives and to do great things, so rest and take refuge in Him. HIDE and take shelter IN Him, knowing that when you do, you can STAND boldly and confidently, knowing that He’s got your back. ⁣
