📖 “Be still and know (recognize, understand) that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations! I will be exalted in the earth. -Psalm 46:10 Amplified Bible

There are times in our lives when life seems overwhelming. We must deal with issues our jobs, in our families, financial issues, health issues and more. Sometimes, we just need to be still and know that He is God. We must know there is nothing too difficult for Him. We must be still and reflect on His goodness and His faithfulness. We remind ourselves of His promises and His integrity. The devil wants us to just think about our problems. He wants us to fret and worry. You cannot worry when you know that He is God and that He is moving on your behalf. You can’t be in despair when you walk with Him. We must be still and know that He is God. He is not just our God, but He is our Father. He is looking to help His children. Afterall, that is what every great Father does, especially when He is capable. Our God is more than capable; yes, our Heavenly Father is well able.

📖 “But when He, the Spirit of Truth, comes, He will guide you into all the truth [full and complete truth]. For He will not speak on His own initiative, but He will speak whatever He hears [from the Father—the message regarding the Son], and He will disclose to you what is to come [in the future].” -John 16:13 Amplified Bible

God wants to lead and guide us. God has a path that He has preordained for us to walk in. For us to follow the path, we must follow our guide, the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit receives from the Father and discloses to us what the Father has said and what He wants us to do. We may not know what the future holds, but God does. He sees the end from the beginning. He knows the answer to our problems before the problem even manifests. You can never get ahead of God. No problem takes God off guard. As we serve Him and fellowship with Him, He will lead us and guide us. He will reveal to us what is to come. He will show us the future.

📖 “Don't be like the people of this world, but let God change the way you think. Then you will know how to do everything that is good and pleasing to him.” -Romans 12:2 Contemporary English Version

As we continue to walk with God, we must continue to renew our minds to the Word of God. God has given us His Word to change our thinking. In order to live on a higher level, we must think on a higher because as a man thinketh, so is he (Proverbs 23:7). Our outer world is simply a reflection of our inner world. As you feed on the Word of God, it will change your image. It will change how you see yourself and a correlation will take place on the outside. God doesn’t have limitations. All things are possible with Him. His Word tells us that all things are possible with us as well. We are made in God’s image, and we are capable of living in victory the way He walks in victory. The Word of God even tells us that as He is (Jesus), so are we in this world. God expects us to rule and reign as kings in this life. As we renew our minds to the Word of God, eventually we too will reign.

📖 “Christ gives me the strength to face anything.” -Philippians 4:13 Contemporary English Version

One of the greatest truths that we can embrace is that we have the Greater One on the inside of us. His strength is our strength. His ability is our ability. We can face all that the devil brings our way because of the ability on the inside of us. Jesus said He has given us physical and mental strength and ability over all the enemy's power (Luke 10:19 Amplified Classic). We have a strength that we can draw from at any time. We cannot lose when we live from the inside out.

📖 “My son, attend to my words; consent and submit to my sayings. Let them not depart from your sight; keep them in the center of your heart. For they are life to those who find them, healing and health to all their flesh. Keep and guard your heart with all vigilance and above all that you guard, for out of it flow the springs of life." -Proverbs 4:20-23 Amplified Bible Classic Edition

We must endeavor to keep our eyes on God’s Word if we are going to walk the faith walk that God has instructed us to walk. We are faith people, and faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God. As we put the Word of God in our hearts and keep it there, the Word will produce. The Word will produce what it promises. The Word will bring healing, peace, prosperity, provision, and anything else we will need in this life. We must protect our hearts from doubt and unbelief. Those things will choke the Word and keep it from producing in our lives. As we stay diligent in protecting of our hearts, we will see the results that the Word of God promises. God’s Word always works.

📖 “Lay down the knife; don't hurt the lad in any way," the Angel said, "for I know that God is first in your life-you have not withheld even your beloved son from me." -Genesis 22:12 TLB

God tested Abraham. Not only did He want to see if Abraham would honor the covenant, but he also wanted to test his loyalty. God knew how much Abraham loved his son, but he wanted to see if he loved him more than God. Abraham passed the test. He was literally about to bring the knife down on his son when God told him to stop. Abraham proved his loyalty to the covenant and that God was number one in his life. God wants to be number one and a priority in our lives too. He doesn't want us to love anyone or anything more than Him. When you go all out for God, God will go all out for you. You can't outdo God.

📖 “I’ll go ahead of you, clearing and paving the road. I’ll break down bronze city gates, smash padlocks, kick down barred entrances. I’ll lead you to buried treasures, secret caches of valuables— Confirmations that it is, in fact, I, God, the God of Israel, who calls you by your name. -Isaiah 45:2-3 The Message Bible

As we enter the new year, we can enter it knowing that God is going ahead of us, clearing, and paving the road that we are supposed to be on. When we stay on His road, the road will be cleared and paved for us. When we choose to go another way instead, we must clear the path and pave the road. God’s desire is that we take the road that He makes for us. As we stay on His road, there will be blessings that will come our way. We expect our lives to get better because God will use that to confirm that we are on the right path. Sometimes when we are embarking on what God has called us to do, there may obstacles and challenges along the way, but we can be sure that God will fight our battles. God will confirm that we belong to Him and that we are exactly where He wants us to be. Obeying God doesn’t cost, it pays.

📖 “The eyes of the Lord are toward the [uncompromisingly] righteous and His ears are open to their cry. The face of the Lord is against those who do evil, to cut off the remembrance of them from the earth. When the righteous cry for help, the Lord hears, and delivers them out of all their distress and troubles." -Psalm 34:15-17 Amplified Bible Classic Edition

It pays to be a child of God. Being a member of the Body of Christ has its privileges. As we walk with God and serve Him, we know that if we find ourselves in trouble, we can get God’s attention when we cry out to Him. It's not a cry of despair, it’s a cry of faith. When we act in faith, we can expect God to move on our behalf. When we act in faith, we are simply acting on the Word of God. God tells us that when we ask, we can expect to receive. If we ask God for help, we can expect to receive it. He hears us when we call, and He delivers us from all troubles. It does not matter what type of trouble you find yourself; God is always able to deliver. God will always honor His Word in our lives. He is watching over His Word to perform it.

📖 “Do not remember the former things, or ponder the things of the past.  “Listen carefully, I am about to do a new thing, Now it will spring forth; Will you not be aware of it?  I will even put a road in the wilderness,
Rivers in the desert. -Isaiah 43:18-19 Amplified Bible

As we celebrate the new year that is upon us, we must be willing to forget the things that happened in the past. We cannot change the past. We can only focus on the present which will impact our future. God wants to do a new thing in our lives, something that we haven’t experienced up until this point. God wants us to experience a better life. A life that goes beyond anything that we could ever ask or think. He said in the text that He will even make rivers in the desert. God can change the condition in your life. God can totally change your life. God wants you to expect remarkable things in this new year. He is able to do exceedingly, abundantly above anything that you could ask or think. He is a good God!

📖 “Now, dear children, live in Christ. Then, when he appears we will have confidence, and when he comes we won’t turn from him in shame.” -I John 2:28 God’s Word Translation

Jesus is coming soon. We must all be prepared for Him when He returns. We don’t want to be like the bridesmaids in Matthew 25. When the bridegroom showed up, five of the bridesmaids were prepared and went into the wedding hall, but the other five had to go and purchase oil for their lamps. When they were finally ready, the door had been shut, and they were not allowed in. We want to be ready. We don’t want to be in the middle of sinning when the trump of God sounds. We don’t want to be involved in any questionable activity when Jesus returns. We want to stay vigilant and watchful. We don’t want to be ashamed when He comes. We must be ready.  No man knows the day or the hour. Jesus is coming soon!

📖 “Be strong and courageous. Do not fear or be dismayed because of the king of Assyria, nor because of all the army that is with him; for the One with us is greater than the one with him. With him there is only an arm of flesh, but with us is the Lord our God to help us and to fight our battles.” And the people relied on the words of Hezekiah king of Judah." -II Chronicles 32:7-8 Amplified Bible

We can always have confidence when we know who is with us. That confidence comes from trusting and relying on God and not the arm of flesh. God is greater than any man. There is no one stronger than God, and there is no one mightier than God. When we know that God will fight our battles. When we know that God is on our side, we know that no one can successfully be our enemy. In Isaiah 41:10, God said told us to fear not because He was with us and to not be dismayed because He is our God. God will not tell us to do something that could not be done. When trouble hits our lives, we can sometimes forget who is with us. When we read, study, and meditate God’s Word, it is a reminder that God is for us and that He will fight for us, no matter what the situation is. When we get a revelation of this, we can rest in the integrity of God. We can rest knowing that He has our back.

📖 “Whatever task comes your way to do, do it with all your strength; because in Sh’ol, where you will go, there is neither working nor planning, neither knowledge nor wisdom." -Ecclesiastes 9:10 Complete Jewish Bible

We only have one opportunity to live here on the earth before we go to Heaven (those of us who are saved). We must make the most out of our lives. We must take advantage of every opportunity. We must make every day count. Jesus was aware of His mission, and He worked toward it every day. He went about teaching, and preaching, and healing. Sometimes He would minister for days. He would pray for hours late at night after ministering. He would get up early in the morning before His day got started and spend time with the Father. Jesus was all about His purpose. God expects no less out of us. We must be consumed with the will of the Father so that we can hear, “Well done, thou good and faithful servant.”

📖 “The righteous will inherit the land and live in it forever. The mouth of the righteous proclaims wisdom, and his tongue speaks justice and truth. The law of his God is in his heart; not one of his steps will slip.” -Psalm 37:19-21 Amplified Bible

The Word of God is our guidebook in life. It will instruct us and lead us in the way that we should go. When the Word is in your heart “in abundance”, you will not only know what to say, you will know when to say it. Ecclesiastes 3:7 tells us that there is a time to speak and a time to be silent. When the trials of life come our way, we speak what is in our hearts; and as believers, the Word of God should come out. God’s Word will guard your steps. The Spirit of God will bring to your remembrance what the Word of God says about the situation you are facing and what to do to overcome it. God’s Word is our answer. As we keep His laws in our hearts, we can expect to walk in our inheritance. We can expect to proclaim the right things. We can expect our steps to be ordered by Him, keeping our steps from slipping.

📖 “For thus said the Lord God, the Holy One of Israel: In returning [to Me] and resting [in Me] you shall be saved; in quietness and in [trusting] confidence shall be your strength. But you would not,” -Isaiah 30:15 AMPC

When facing difficulties, we have to know where our help comes from. Our help comes from the Lord. When we know the source of our help, we will rest in that. God is the One Who will fight our battles. God wants to remove every obstacle. When we rest in Him and the promises of God, we are showing God that we are giving Him permission to move on our behalf. When the Egyptians were going after the Israelites in the wilderness, Moses told the people to standstill and to prepare to see the salvation of the Lord. God parted the Red Sea, and the Israelites walked on dry ground. God performed miracle after miracle to deliver His people, and He will do the same for you. God will fight for you when you rest in Him.

📖 "The spirit of man [that factor in human personality which proceeds immediately from God] is the lamp of the Lord, searching all his innermost parts." -Proverbs 20:27 Amplified Bible Classic Edition

As believers, we are to be led by the Spirit of God. The Spirit of God within our spirit wants to navigate us through life. He doesn't want us to be led by circumstances, because Satan is the god of this world and he can manipulate things in this natural world. Satan cannot manipulate us in our spirits because he's not in there. We have to learn to become sensitive to our spirits so that we can be aware of when God is leading and guiding us. This comes through our relationship with God. The more time we spend with Him, the more we recognize His leading and His prompting. Time with Him is the key.

📖 ""And her [promised] husband Joseph, being a just and upright man and not willing to expose her publicly and to shame and disgrace her, decided to repudiate and dismiss (divorce) her quietly and secretly. But as he was thinking this over, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, Joseph, descendant of David, do not be afraid to take Mary [as] your wife, for that which is conceived in her is of (from, out of) the Holy Spirit. She will bear a Son, and you shall call His name Jesus [the Greek form of the Hebrew Joshua, which means Savior], for He will save His people from their sins [that is, prevent them from failing and missing the true end and scope of life, which is God]." -Matthew 1:19-21 Amplified Bible Classic Edition

As we celebrate the birth of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, let’s not forget about the part that Mary and Joseph played. Both individuals said yes to the plan of God. They both understood the magnitude of saying yes to what the angel had said. Mary and Joseph knew that they might be ridiculed and disdained because Mary would give birth to a child before they were married. People wouldn’t have known what God had said to them, but they said yes anyway. Jesus came into this earth to parents who submitted to the will of God. We must follow their example. Regardless of what it may look like to the outside world, we must obey God. We must follow the leadership of the Holy Spirit when it doesn’t make sense in the natural. When we hear from God and know that we heard from Him, we must follow Him. We must be like Jesus when He said not my will, but your will be done. God’s path is always the best path. His way is always the best way.

📖 "But Jesus answered them, My Father has worked [even] until now, [He has never ceased working; He is still working] and I, too, must be at [divine] work." -John 5:17 Amplified Bible Classic Edition

Jesus was all about His Father’s business when He was here on the earth. At the age of twelve, He was in the temple sitting and talking with the teachers and the Rabbis. After He was baptized in water and baptized with the Holy Spirit, He went about teaching, preaching, and healing. He was all about His mission all the way up until it was time for Him to go to the cross. We must be about our Father’s business as well. We must tell people about Jesus, cast out devils, lay hands on the sick; we must be about the Great Commission. We are the light of the world and the salt of the earth. God is counting on us to carry on His divine work until Jesus returns. Are you doing your part?

📖 "David asked the Lord, “Shall I chase them? Will I catch them?” And the Lord told him, “Yes, go after them; you will recover everything that was taken from you!” -I Samuel 30:8 The Living Bible

Many of us would be so much further along if we had sought the Lord when it was time to make a major decision in our lives. We all have had the tendency to make decisions in our emotions and in our flesh. We can imagine that David wanted to recover everything that was stolen from him, not just for his sake but for the men that followed him as well. Their families and goods were taken. David wanted to know what to do, and so he sought the Lord. God knows the future. He knows what will work and what won't.  When God told the Israelites that they would wander in the wilderness for forty years, they still wanted to go and try to possess the land. Even though they were told that they would fail, they tried anyway and lost. If they had just listened, they wouldn’t have suffered the loss the way they did. If we want success, we must seek God and His plan for our lives. We must seek His guidance. We can rest assured that when we seek Him, we are not seeking Him in vain. He always answers when we call.

📖 ""Faithfully obey the terms of this promise. Then you will be successful in everything you do." -Deuteronomy 29:9 God’s Word Translation

God will always do His part. God is faithful to His Word. Isaiah 1:19 tells us that if we are willing and obedient, we will eat the good of the land. God is all about prospering us and watching us succeed in life. He takes pleasure in the prosperity of His servants (Psalm 35:27). Our obedience to God demonstrates honor, reverence, and love. It shows that we respect Him as our Father and as our God. Every good parent wants to do special things for their children, especially when they do what they are supposed to do. God told His people that He would prosper the works of their hands when they heeded His commandments (Deuteronomy 28). God has not changed. He is still prospering those who love and obey Him. God is no respecter of persons; what He has done for one, He will do for another when they meet the same conditions.

📖 "His anger lasts a moment; his favor lasts for life! Weeping may go on all night, but in the morning there is joy." -Psalm 30:5 The Living Bible

When we encounter the difficulties of life, we face them knowing that those difficulties are temporary. Every problem has a limited span of time. We are built to outlast the devil. We are built to outlast every difficulty, every obstacle, every test, and every trial. We have the Greater One on the inside of us, and He is greater than anything the devil can throw in our direction. God has a solution to every problem. Nothing catches Him by surprise. As we fellowship with Him and keep our eyes on His Word, overcoming the tests and trials will become easier and easier. As we overcome, we become stronger and stronger. It doesn’t matter what the devil does, we know that it is only for a season. The devil had to leave Jesus for a season, and as stand on God’s Word, he will have to leave us as well.
