JOURNEY THROUGH EGYPT & JORDAN

10-Day Educational Tour: April 19-28, 2027

This trip is for VCC members and invited pastors only. Others who are associated with VCC members or invited pastors will be allowed to enroll if space is still available December 2026.

The VCC 2027 Egypt and Jordan Tour will begin Monday, April 19 in Charlotte, NC, from where we will head to Cairo, Egypt, the land of the Pharaohs and a central setting of the biblical Exodus story. After arriving in Cairo Tuesday, April 20, we will check into our hotel to relax and recover from the long journey.

On Wednesday morning, we will visit the spectacular Grand Egyptian Museum, home to an extraordinary collection of ancient treasures, and then proceed to the legendary Pyramids of Giza and the Great Sphinx, marveling at these timeless monuments that have stood for more than four thousand years.

Thursday, we journey into the eastern Nile Delta, exploring sites associated with the Israelite experience in Egypt. We visit the Land of Goshen where Israel lived before departing Egypt, and Succoth – the first stop after leaving for the Promised Land.

On Friday, we will head to the Sinai Peninsula and journey through the wilderness to St. Catherine where we will spend the night and prepare for our ascent of Mount Sinai.

Saturday, after visiting the place where the 10 Commandments were given, we will check out St. Catherine’s monastery – one of the oldest continuously operating Christian monasteries in the world. Then we will go to the Red Sea for dinner and spend the night in Taba.

On Sunday, after breakfast, we will continue to the area where one of the world's most remarkable archaeological treasures and a UNESCO World Heritage Site exists. Known as the "Rose-Red City," Petra was carved into colorful sandstone cliffs by the Nabateans over two thousand years ago.

On Monday, we enjoy a comprehensive visit to the ancient city of Petra. In the afternoon, we travel north to Amman, Jordan's vibrant capital city. Dinner and overnight in Amman.

Tuesday, we travel to Mount Nebo, the sacred site where Moses was granted a view of the Promised Land. We will enjoy sweeping views across the Jordan Valley and the Holy Land beyond and visit the memorial site marking this significant biblical location. We then return to Amman for an afternoon city tour, discovering the fascinating capital where ancient history and modern life blend seamlessly.

On Wednesday, after breakfast, we transfer to Queen Alia International Airport for our return flight to the United States. Our journey is over but cherished memories of the biblical lands of Egypt, the sacred wilderness of Sinai, and the magnificent heritage of Jordan go with us.
