On Saturday, May 31st in the Victory Christian Center Dome the VCCS "Continuing the Excellence" Benefit Concert will feature Grammy nominee and three-time Dove Award winner, Canton Jones; one of the funniest comedians in the nation, Akintunde; and Stellar Award nominee for best new artist, Charlotte’s own Travis Greene. The event is hosted by the VCCS Alumni & Friends Association.
This extraordinary evening is being sponsored as a benefit concert by the VCCS Kings Annual Fund. All tax-deductible proceeds will benefit the school’s scholarship fund. Tickets are $10 per person if purchased before Friday, May 30th, $15 at the Door. Akintunde has been featured or headlined in eight national tours in the last five years. He has appeared before thousands as performer or host on the Family Expo Stage, Bishop T.D. Jakes’ Mega Fest, BET, TBS, The Word Network, TBN and the Gospel Music Channel. Akintunde has also made multiple appearances on the Stellar Awards Gospel Music Show and toured with Pastors Creflo and Taffi Dollar’s Change Experience.
