CA Health Department rescinds accusations against church
A church in California has been cleared of charges from a case this summer. Grace Community Church and the church’s Pastor John MacArthur have been cleared of claims by the health department in Los Angeles County that the church was the epicenter of a super spreader outbreak. The health department claimed closing churches would stop the spread of COVID-19. The state government later followed with restrictions including banning indoor services and banning singing. Grace Community resumed services this summer defying the state’s shutdown ordinance. The church was then targeted by the county after 3 members tested positive for the illness. According to the church’s attorney the cases were mild, and the only ones reported out of the church’s seven thousand members. The cases were later used the newspaper the LA Times to spread false accusations about the church being a super spreader in the county. The church and the pastor still face litigation stemming from an injunction that was issued in September. That part of the case will be reviewed in January of next year. 

UK pastors sue for right to continue indoor services
Church pastors and leaders are taking legal action in Great Britain after a second shutdown by the government. British churches are now facing a second shutdown by the government after a spike in coronavirus cases according to that nation’s officials. The pastor leading the push for the lawsuit says they have no other choice but to seek legal action against the government. The church leaders pointed out that in some areas churches are being shutdown for indoor services, but their buildings are still being used for secular activities. Attorneys representing the churches say their clients have followed all requested guidelines by the government and should be allowed to continue services.  A former Bishop in the Anglican Church commented on the situation saying, "Church leaders see collective worship not as an optional extra but as vital to the mental and spiritual health of believers, especially for the lonely and vulnerable." 

Men arrested for voter fraud in California
The mainstream media continues to insist that there is no major evidence of fraud in the recent national elections. Despite these claims more and more accusations and stories are coming out that has some taking a second look at these claims. The latest news from LA county in California is shedding more light on this issue. The District Attorney announced recently the arrest of two men who attempted to file fraudulent applications to vote for several homeless people in LA County. According to police the sting revealed the men submitted eight thousand fraudulent  voter registration applications in an attempt to get one of the men on the election ballot for the office of mayor in Hawthorne, California. The two suspects have been arrested and face from seven to 15 years in prison for the charges. These men are not suspected of fraud related to the national election, but the case shines a light on the issue that fraudulent cases can occur more often than some critics are willing to acknowledge. LA County’s District Attorney’s office released a statement on the arrest, but has not commented further on the case.  

SNBC HEALTH News: doctors report certain fruits may help to lower blood pressure
According to health experts the nutrient known as flavanol is found in certain fruits and tea. The nutrient is known to help lower blood pressure and reduce the risk of diabetes. According to researchers in Great Britain, lowering blood pressure and reducing the risk of diabetes can be achieved through food. Most doctors advise against excessive sugar and processed foods when trying to achieve these particular health goals. Medical professionals participating in this study believe healing through food is the best option for maintaining wellness. Researchers used mice in this particular study and found the animals’ systems responded well to several fruits when eaten in moderation. Avocados, berries, kiwi, and citrus fruits are considered beneficial to lowering blood pressure. These fruits were suggested because they are lower in natural sugars.  In addition to reducing diabetes and lowering blood pressure researchers reiterated that most fruits have several nutritional benefits in addition to the nutrients focused on for this study.

Family sues after daughter banned from wearing mask
A family in Mississippi is suing their child’s school due to religious discrimination. According to the parents Matthew and Jennifer Booth their daughter Lydia was required to wear a mask to attend school. The child wore a face mask with the phrase, “Jesus Loves Me”. School officials later told the child the mask would have to be replaced. The Simpson County School district claims the mask was a violation according to the school’s handbook. the school district prohibits messages on masks and clothing that are political, religious, inappropriate, offensive or disruptive to the school environment. The family is being represented by attorneys with Alliance Defending Freedom. According to attorneys the child has the right to express herself without being disruptive. Attorney Michael Ross pointed out that the school allows masks and clothing with sports logos and the Black Lives Matter logo, so Lydia expressing her faith should be allowed. Attorneys filed the lawsuit on November 3rd; the school district has not commented on the case. 

Supreme Court Justice expresses concern for religious freedom
Justice Samuel Alito says he is concerned about religious liberty in the U.S. The Supreme Court Justice voiced his opinion during a rare public address to the Federalist society. The Justice who is a conservative made the comments to the group during an event. Justice Alito says the coronavirus shutdowns and the 2015 court decision on same-sex marriage are the main reasons behind his concern. Alito says states shutting down churches is what he considers an infringement on religious liberty. The justice added that those who are opposed to churches should understand they are taking a hard line approach which was the same approach used in Nazi Germany and Japan in 1945. The justice continued saying “the question we face is whether our society will be inclusive enough to tolerate people with unpopular beliefs.” Supporters of the comments say he echoes the same views as President Trump who in 2017 said he would work to prevent the federal government from bullying and punishing Americans for following their religious beliefs. The president also called churches essential during the covid-19 shutdowns. Critics were quick to speak out against Justice Alito. Senator Elizabeth Warren called Alito’s comments “nakedly partisan”. The online magazine out claimed the Justice was trying to end marriage equality. The comments from the justice were published this week at the same time more state governments including North Carolina are again tightening restrictions or ordering more shutdowns citing covid-19 spikes. Justice Alito has not commented on the criticism. 

Malawi announces embassy move in Israel
A third nation has announced plans to move their embassy to Jerusalem. The nation of Malawi is the first nation on the continent of Africa to announce plans to move their embassy to Jerusalem. The majority Christian nation announced their embassy will be moved by June of next year. The nation’s president, a former pastor was congratulated by leaders including Rev. Franklin Graham who praised the decision and asked followers online to pray for Malawi’s president. Malawi’s ambassador to Israel called the decision a bold and significant step. Malawi will join the U.S. and Guatemala who have already moved their embassies to Jerusalem. Eight other nations have also pledged to move their embassies to Israel’s capital.

In our SNBC HEALTH report : oil pulling and oral health
The technique of oil pulling is a method that has seen growing interest here in the U.S. The method of rinsing out the mouth by using oil has been practiced in countries such as India since ancient times according to dentists. This method is a form of mouthwash that literally helps pull bacteria, plaque, and debris from the teeth and gums. The method is considered safer by some dental experts who report oil pulling has little to no side effects, is completely natural, and is just as effective as regular mouthwash. Researchers in Egypt discovered oil pulling helped protect children more from cavities compared to the use of regular mouthwash. The difference in the children’s oral health was found after the study group used the method for just two weeks, three times a day for one minute. Oil pulling in addition to oral health is an antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and helps with protection from diabetes. The down side of this technique is the time for some people. One dentist Dr. Gerry Curatola recommended the process of oil pulling should last at least 20 minutes each time its done and must pass throughly through the teeth and gums to be effective.  The doctor says to use 1 tablespoon of coconut oil for adults and 1 teaspoon for children. He does acknowledge the length of time compared to regular mouthwash, but says that consumers interested in using this method should work their way up to the recommended 20 minutes. (reminder researchers in Egypt did see a difference in children’s oral health with one minute of oil pulling).  

ELECTION UPDATE
SNBC NEWS would like to give an update concerning the election. Just a reminder the election is not officially decided until the electoral college certifies the votes from each state on December 14th. The president has won a court case in Pennsylvania. According to CBN News, a lawsuit against the controversial mail in ballot extension was decided in the President’s favor. The state government in Pennsylvania allowed voters who mailed in ballots postmarked November 3rd to be included in the voter count. Those late votes had to arrive by November 9th to be counted. The Secretary of State in Pennsylvania then pushed the date back by three days allowing ballots to be postmarked until November 6th. A justice in the state says the Secretary of State did not have the authority to extend the deadline. There is no update yet on whether those late votes will counted.

CA Church faces six figure fines for holding in person worship services
A Church in California is now fighting in court to stay open after being sued by county officials. Santa Clara County recently sued Calvary Chapel in San Jose. The county officials claim the church is in violation of Coronavirus restrictions by meeting in person. According to the complaint, filed October 27th county officials claim the violations and fines started when the church began meeting in person again in May. The fines for the church meeting in person are now over 350-thousand dollars. Attorneys for the church say Santa Clara has the lowest tier of infections, members are safe, and no cases have been reported since members returned to services. The pastor of Calvary Chapel Pastor Mike McClure says he reopened for in person services after seeing members suffering from mental health issues due to isolation. Several churches in California and across the U.S. are currently suing for the right to assemble after government shutdowns.

Witches cast spells in support of Biden/Harris
The recent national elections have revealed some surprising allies for the Biden and Harris campaign. A recent article revealed those who practice witchcraft circulated spells to help the Democratic nominees be elected to office. The author of the book, ‘Magic for the Resistance: Rituals and spells for change’ Michael M. Hughes circulated the spell on his website. Hughes said of the spell, “even if you’ve never considered doing a magical spell, your country needs you now more than ever.” He then encouraged followers to perform the spell, pass it on to friends and go out and vote in the election. The instructions included buying tarot cards, candles, and prayers to bind the Trump Administration, and Republican officials. The author also encouraged people to post photos of deceased members of the government while doing the spells. (Ex. Justice Ruth Bader Ginsberg, Congressmen John Lewis, and Elijah Cummings who all passed this year).
The groups of witches prayed according to the article on Halloween (Oct. 31st)  and November 2nd.  (The spells call for a blue wave across the nation and a binding of President Trump, Vice President Pence and prominent leaders in the Republican Party).

SNBC NEWS UPDATE concerning election progress
SNBC News will continue to give updates concerning the Trump administration’s litigation concerning the ongoing election results. The election has not been officially declared despite what secular media is reporting. Votes will not be certified officially by the Electoral College until December 14th.  (This means all legal arguments from both parties will be heard until the decision from the Electoral College).

Despite the Biden campaign claiming the voter fraud accusations are false there are several incidents being reported across the nation that have raised serious concern from supporters on both sides. Here are 10 confirmed incidents.  

1.    GOP chair in Michigan say six thousand votes were counted for Democratic nominees that should have been given to Republicans (47 other counties reportedly used the same software.)

2.    A republican representative mentioned on Fox News a couple in Texas reported their dead relative was registered to vote and did cast a ballot Tuesday.  

3.    A poll worker who was a registered Democrat recorded being distanced from the counting procedure and urged social media followers to share his video after he saw questionable practices.

4.    Three thousand former Nevada residents received ballots to vote in Clark County despite not meeting the qualifications.

5.    Ballot monitoring in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania was not enforced by police after Republicans in the state won their case claiming voter ballot fraud. (The sheriff has refused enforcement and says he will not enforce).

6.    A social worker in Texas is under arrest for several counts of election fraud after receiving and using 67 mail in ballots.

7.    Trump attorney Rudy Giuliani tweeted information that 21 thousand dead people voted in Pennsylvania with over 9 thousand who were listed as dead for at least five years.

8.    Video again from Pennsylvania of at least 3 workers committing voter fraud, altering ballots.

9.    A worker in Detroit was accused of voter fraud denied the accusation, but was later replaced. The worker then quickly went into hiding after more investigations were called for concerning ballot tampering.

10. In Nevada there are confirmed reports that one dead person voted in the election and 300 more ballots are in question for the same reason.

Police commissioner threatens raids on families during Christmas gatherings
A police commissioner in England has announced possible raids on homes during Christmas celebrations. West Midlands police commissioner says if large groups including families meet together this Christmas it will be a violation of current rules. The commissioner says police will have no choice but to intervene. The commissioner says he does not want to ruin residents Christmas, but rules must be enforced. The announcement was made shortly after UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced a new shutdown for Great Britain. British citizens will be restricted to movement except for a small list of activities including work, school, and exercise until December 2nd.

SNBC Health News: the health benefits of cinnamon
 This spice according to research may help reduce blood pressure levels. The research was conducted as part of a study on diabetes. Researchers found patients’ blood pressure reduced and A1C levels reduced following a regimen that included adding cinnamon to their diet. In addition to these discoveries cinnamon is anti-inflammatory and helps lower cholesterol. It can help with protecting gastro and neurological issues. Cinnamon supplements have also been used to lower glucose levels in pre-diabetic patients. Researchers believe you can acquire health benefits from cinnamon by adding or drinking ¼ teaspoon to 1 teaspoon of cinnamon a day to your food or drinks.

Girl Scouts apologizes for tweet congratulating Justice Coney-Barrett
Representatives for the Girl Scouts have apologized for what critics called an error in judgment. The Girl Scouts were ridiculed on social media for releasing a congratulatory tweet to Supreme Court Justice Amy Coney Barrett. The organization posted a photo on Twitter in honor of Coney-Barrett. The tweet congratulated the justice for being just the fifth woman in US history to be appointed to the Supreme Court since its inception in 1789. Critics’ online included celebrities who threatened to boycott the organization. Many critics claim Coney-Barrett’s record does not support women. Coney-Barrett is considered a bad choice by liberals and critics due to her more conservative stance. The Girl Scouts released a statement over the controversy. In the statement they said, “The Girl Scouts of the USA is a nonpolitical, nonpartisan organization, we are neither red nor blue, but Girl Scout Green. We are here to up lift girls and women.”

QC/ National Media focus on church’s forced closing
The local media’s focus on a church here in Charlotte has gained national attention. The United House of Prayer Charlotte locations were forcibly closed after what health officials and the media called a large COVID-19 outbreak. The House of Prayer hosted convocation with up to one thousand participants from Charlotte and from other states in early October. This event was later blamed for 181 infections, 10 hospitalizations, and six deaths. Charlotte city health official Gibbie Harris says she had no choice but to invoke authority closing all Charlotte United House of Prayer facilities in the city for 14 days. Rev. Kenneth Robinson part of the Concerned Clergy of Charlotte group said of the closing, “When one church is affected, we’re all affected.” Robinson went onto say it was heartbreaking to see the House of Prayer facilities forcibly closed. The city’s health department did announce the facilities would be allowed to reopen November 2nd. Just a note on this story: The term outbreak is not in reference to hospitalizations, but recording those primarily testing positive. SNBC NEWS is committed to bringing you news reports researched as thorough as possible so we did some research concerning this outbreak being reported. The United House of Prayer case is being described by other members of the Charlotte media as a large outbreak. However there have been reports of a cluster outbreak at UNC-Charlotte’s campus. This incident has gotten limited or no major coverage compared to the church outbreak. UNCC Campus officials are reporting that the situation is under control; compared to the House of Prayer incident which hosted one thousand participants throughout the week, UNCC has a campus dorm population of just over three thousand with a student enrollment of 27 to 30 thousand. Only a small amount of students elected to stay home this semester. UNCC is the second largest UNC campus in the state.

DC City council approves of vaccines for children without parental consent
The Washington D.C. city council has approved of a controversial bill that has parents in the nation’s capital voicing their concern. The DC City council has approved a bill allowing children to receive a vaccine without parental consent. The bill if passed would allow children as young as 11 years old to receive a vaccine without parental consent or the parent’s knowledge. The bill would also allow contact between insurance companies and schools to side step parental involvement. City councilman Vincent Gray says the bill is necessary as a result of everything that politicians have learned from the Coronavirus pandemic. Gray says politicians and lawmakers need to make science driven decisions concerning public health. City Councilman Trayon White opposed the bill saying that parents have fundamental rights concerning the upbringing, education, and care of their children. There are other states and cities in the US that allow underage children to vaccinate without parental knowledge including
South Carolina, but most vaccinations without parental consent are limited to ages 16 and up. The bill still has to go through a second round of votes before being signed into law by DC’s mayor.

This nutrient according to a 2010 study was shown to be one of the body’s first lines of defense. Zinc according to research is just as important to the body’s immunity function as vitamin D. Pope reveals support for same-sex unions in documentary
Pope Francis has expressed his support of same-sex civil unions. The Pope’s beliefs on the topic were revealed during a documentary entitled ‘Francesco’. The documentary, which follows the Pope, debuted this week in Rome. The response has been a mix of support and criticism. Hollywood celebrities and activists have praised the remarks commenting with overall approval for the Pope’s comments. Critics and conservatives within the Catholic Church expressed disapproval and confusion over the remarks. In 2003 according to Vatican documents and news reports, the Pope had previously supported efforts to stop the recognition of same-sex unions in Argentina. During his campaign then the Archbishop of Buenos Aires, the future Pope referred to same-sex unions or marriage as a war on God. Critics now point out that the Pope has changed his views since 2010 and is rumored to have a same-sex couple in his inner circle. Pope Francis is the first pope in the Catholic Church’s history to openly support same-sex unions of any kind. Pope Francis was elected to the office of Pope in 2013. The Catholic Church is expected eventually to split between conservatives and the more liberal followers after the comments from the Pope.

Senate Committee approves Justice Coney-Barrett
The Senate Judiciary Committee has voted to approve Justice Amy Coney Barrett. The committee has continued to have controversy among its members; Democrats on the committee refused to attend the final vote in protest. Committee members that protested say Republicans are trying to pack the court with conservative judges. Those protesting the hearings say the Supreme Court vacancy should remain open until after the elections. Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Lindsay Graham says Justice Coney-Barrett deserves an answer yes or no from the committee after going through the Senate hearings. An official vote to approve or deny the justice is expected tomorrow.

US& Israeli officials hint at upcoming normalization deal with Sudan
U.S. and Israeli officials say they are closer to deal with Sudan. According to officials on both sides they are currently in talks to normalize relations between Israel and Sudan. The Trump Administration announced that they are working to remove Sudan from the terror blacklist. Sudanese officials in return agreed pay over 300 million dollars to the families of American victims and survivors of the 1998 bombing of the US embassy in that country. An Israeli official says they expect relations between the two nations to normalize before the U.S. national elections. Sudan is a part of a growing number of Muslim countries looking to build a relationship with Israel. Including Sudan about six countries have announced talks or a peace deal with Israel more countries are expected to follow soon.

SNBC Health News: the health benefits of flavanols
According to research in the United Kingdom doctors found benefits to the body from the nutrient flavanol. Found in several foods, this nutrient is believed to help lower blood pressure. Researchers studied subjects who had a diet rich in tea (mainly black and green teas), berries and apples. The researchers then ran tests and discovered the subjects had lower blood pressure compared to those without a flavanol rich diet. Dark chocolate also contains flavanol, but it is only found in chocolate that is not heavily processed. A research study conducted by the Mars candy company found the process to make chocolate candy destroys flavanols found in chocolate. Researchers say U.K. consumers get their flavanol nutrient mainly from tea while Americans get more flavanol from berries and apples.
