Bomber of fertility & reproductive clinic identified
Police are releasing more details about a recent bombing of a reproductive and fertility clinic. Guy Edward Bartkus detonated a bomb at the American Reproductive Centers facility in Palm Springs, California. The bomb’s blast spread debris through the surrounding area of the blast zone. Bartkus was killed in the blast; four more people were injured. Investigators say the bomber was an anti-natalist. This is the belief that having children is morally wrong and those that follow this belief encourage people to abstain from reproducing. The suspect was killed in the attack. Authorities have labeled this an act of terrorism and say it was an isolated incident. Since 2023 there has been a rise in attacks on pro-life centers and clinics.
Though not reported in the media as often, some believe it maybe retaliation for legislation against Planned Parenthood and the anti-abortion movement. SNBC NEWS NOTE: authorities report no one was seriously injured and all embryos in the clinic were safe and not lost.

SNBC Health Report: science is once again playing catch up to the Bible
We are the light of the world the salt of the Earth, a city set on a hill that cannot be hid. This familiar phrase is one of the phrases we close out services with here at Victory Christian Center. In Matthew 5:14 -16 Jesus says, “You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden, nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand and it gives light to all who are in the house.
Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in Heaven
.”
So, what does this have to do with health you ask?
A recent study says that humans have a glow, and it is a lifelong emission until bodily death. The new study focused on what is called ultraweak photo emission or UPE. This study finds that humans give off a faint light or glow. The study according to the report finds the glow is too faint for the naked eye but leaves the body when someone passes. The latest data is from the University of Calgary. The study findings were published in the Journal of Physical Chemistry Letters. Scientists say the glow is because of microscopic amounts of reactive oxygen species or ROS and is a byproduct of energy used to sustain life…but I think we in the Body of Christ know different. So, the next time someone tells you, that you are glowing, say thank you and I give God praise for His light shining in me!

US Committee looks to eliminate controversial program funding
Members of Congress are taking aim at defunding some polarizing topics. Members of the House Energy Commerce Committee announced they are working on budget cuts to help reduce the federal debt limit. These reductions will include if approved, cutting funding from Planned Parenthood. The group has been the focus of the abortion and pro-life movements in recent years. The main sore spot is government funding of the controversial group. Planned Parenthood claims their facilities help lower income communities with healthcare and much needed resources. Critics point out the majority of their services and profit surround abortions; a practice voters and GOP leaders believe should not be funded by US taxpayers. The committee would also cut spending by defunding for transgender drugs for minors. The committee is being tasked with finding at least 800 billion dollars to cut out of the budget. Federal funding to Planned Parenthood was more than 700 million dollars in 2023.

Congress members push for more regulation of controversial abortion pill
Members of Congress are also pressuring the FDA to address new safety concerns about the abortion pill. Mifepristone is a drug used in 60 percent of abortions in the US. A new study finds the health risks to patients is 22 times greater than previously reported. According to the Food and Drug Admiration’s Commissioner they have no plans to change its policy on the drug. The abortion pill has been a controversial issue since its debut. The pill is a form of chemical abortion and has been blamed for ongoing health issues in patients and several deaths. Jamie Bryan Hall, who led a study on the drug says one in ten patients risk severe and possibly fatal side effects. The FDA claims in their approval less than one percent of patients had a negative effect to the medicine. Nearly 900 thousand patients were prescribed abortion pills between 2017 and 2023. School Choice case to be argued in front of nation’s highest court
Citizens are taking the battle for school choice all the way to the US Supreme Court. The case began with a Catholic School, St. Isidore of Seville Catholic Virtual School. The virtual school is seeking public funds to operate and some officials in Oklahoma are standing against this request. The state’s attorney general argues that a tax funded religious school will open the door for schools of every religion from Islam to Satanism to demand a publicly funded school. Supporters say this is about parents having the right to choose the best school, including a religious school. The case could result in a tie by the US Supreme Court. Just Amy Coney Barrett has recused herself due to a personal connection to the case. Oral arguments began April 30th. SNBC NEWS will update you as this story develops.

Professor awarded settlement after firing over Christian stance
A professor has been vindicated for his position on child gender confusion. Dr. Allan Josephson has settled a lawsuit with the University of Louisville after a six-year battle. Dr. Josephson was demoted and ultimately fired for his comments during a child psychiatry and psychology panel. The event was sponsored by the Heritage Foundation and focused on the best way to treat children with gender dysphoria. The doctor advised that the medical community should get to the root of the problem. He offered this method as an alternative to what the doctor referred to as dangerous drugs, hormones and surgeries being performed on or given to a young child. Pro-LGBT groups attacked Dr. Josephson, launching a campaign against the professor. The pressure from these groups eventually led to his termination by the university. The doctor later sued for wrongful termination. Following the long court battle, the university settled for 1.6 million dollars in damages. Dr. Josephson was represented by Alliance Defending Freedom. Attorneys for the professor said in a statement they hope the judgement sends a message to other schools that attempting to violate a staff member’s First Amendment rights is wrong.

However, Bolt was charged for praying silently and holding up a sign reading, “Here to talk if you want.” She was fined $26,000 for violating the law and has been ordered to pay the fine by May 31st. Critics call the Buffer Zone Law an act of censorship.

SNBC Health Report: How gut health can affect your mood
According to findings from Dr. Steven Gundry, gut health may help improve a person’s overall mood. Gundry published his discoveries in a recent book and says the amount of good and bad bacteria in the body can be affected by the kinds of food consumed. He pointed out that unhealthy habits and foods can negatively affect the balance of good and bad bacteria in the body. He believes this balance can also affect the prevention of some health issues including cognitive decline and gastrointestinal issues.  A good bacteria balance affects many areas of the body, such as gut, skin, and oral health. Dr. Gundry blames gut health issues in American patients on the standard American diet. He recommends a diet full of Probiotic and prebiotic foods, such as yogurt and kombucha to help improve gut health. Kimchi and sauerkraut also help build a healthy gut.
