Psalm 46:1-3 NKJV

God is our refuge and strength,
A very present help in trouble.
2 Therefore we will not fear,
Even though the earth be removed,
And though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea;
3 Though its waters roar and be troubled,
Though the mountains shake with its swelling. Selah

What will we do when an earthquake happens in North Carolina? Or some type of natural disaster hits your state? Let’s not wait for something to happen to figure out the answer. Let us rehearse our position ahead of time. If we are unable to stop something from hitting our area, we must have the mindset of the psalmist who wrote Psalm 46. God is our refuge - our hiding place and our place of protection. He is our strength. He enables us to handle any circumstance and make it through whatever comes our way. (Philippians 4:13) When trouble comes, Yahweh is not only present, but VERY present. So we are able to remain calm even if we feel the earth beneath us shaking. If there is a tsunami that follows the earthquake and it reaches the mountains, shaking them, Our attitude is illustrated in verse 7: “The Lord of hosts is with us;
The God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah”
