A person’s name revealed both the character and/or affiliations an individual had. When God called Abram and made a covenant with Him revealing that He would be the Father of many nations, his name was changed from Abram to Abraham. He stepped into God’s plan and purpose for His life, but His name was changed prior to it even being brought into fruition. In the same sense, we can look at the many names of God (i.e. Jehovah Jireh - our provider, Jehovah Nissi - our Healer). His name(s) reveal His nature, power, and character (goodness, mercy, power, faithfulness, just for starters) to the world.
🙌 Because we know that neither He nor His character changes, we can trust Him (Hebrews 13:8). So, if you have need of anything, simply call on His name. He’s still healing, still providing, still comforting, still making a way out of no way, still fighting our battles, still giving us favor, peace and discernment. Place your trust and confidence in His name. Remind yourself today of all that His name reveals about Who He is to you. He won’t fail you.
