It is so good to know that we serve a merciful God. The Bible tells us that His mercies are new every morning. Before Paul’s conversion, he brutally and mercilessly persecuted the church. He had men and women put in prison and he was consenting to the death of Stephen. Paul had just received letters to do even more damage to the church when he had his Damascus Road experience. When God got a hold of Paul, He totally turned his life around and Paul began walking in the call that God had preordained for him to walk in. It doesn’t matter how many times we fail. It doesn’t matter how many mistakes we make. When your heart is to please God and to be what He has called you to be, He knows how to get you where you are supposed to be. He doesn’t consult your past to determine your future. Don’t allow the enemy to bring up your past, it’s over with. Your latter end will be better than your former. God knows the plans that He has for you, a plan to give you a hope and a future (Jeremiah 29:11).
