When a person makes Jesus Christ the Lord of his or her life, they become a new creation. One version of the Bible says that we become “a new species of being, one that has never existed before”. That is good news. It is good news because our past has been removed from us. There is no evidence that you were a sinner because you are now a new person altogether. Paul received a revelation of that. Despite his persecuting the church before his conversion, he was able to later say that he had wronged no man. He had a revelation of the Blood of Jesus. He had a revelation of redemption. We have not only have we been recreated, but God has also reconciled us to Him and made us to be in right standing with Him. We can come before God as if we have not sinned one day in our lives when we make Jesus the Lord of our lives. Even when we sin, if we confess our sin, He is faithful and just to forgive us of our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness (I John 1:9). We must meditate on these spiritual truths until they become a reality to us. When we receive a revelation of who we are in Christ we can say something like Jesus when He said, “Father I know that you always hear me (John 11:42).
