When it comes to forgiving people, it is not always the easiest thing. Our emotions sometimes want to hold on to the offense so that we can stay angry or receive pity when we tell people about the incident that took place. But...we are Christians. We are “Christ-like” ones. We are doers of the Word of God. If the Word of God tells us to forgive and let it go, we have no choice in the matter, we must forgive and we must let it go. It can seem impossible to be willing to forgive someone up to four hundred and ninety times in one day. That may seem like a demanding thing for us, but we must consider our Heavenly Father. How many times has He forgiven us? Some of us have come close to the four hundred and ninety times in a day. We must be imitators of our Father and doers of the Word. We must be love children of a love God. He would not ask you to do something that you were not capable of doing with His help. Let us be imitators of our Father by forgiving and moving on. Our faith is counting on it because faith works by love (Galatians 5:6).
