Jesus knew that His time was approaching. The time was approaching for Him to die for humanity. He had to come through a Samaritan village, and if you know anything about the Samaritans, you know that they did not like the Jewish people. This village would not receive Jesus or His disciples because of their ethnicity. It did not bother Jesus. Jesus was focused. Jesus knew why He was on the earth. He was not concerned about the rejection because He was all about fulfilling His purpose. His disciples got upset and two of them wanted to call down fire from heaven. When you are focused on your purpose, it's hard to get sidetracked by people not liking you. You are not moved by the petty things of this world. Stay focused on the path. What if Jesus was constantly distracted? Well, He wasn’t...He refused. He was obsessive about His purpose and eventually would fulfill His destiny. If we are to do the same, then we must do the same. We must remove all distractions and focus on our purpose.
