📖 “And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. 19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: 20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen." -Matthew 28:18-20 KJV

Jesus said in Matthew 28:18, “…All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.” The word “power” in Matthew 28, simply means authority. Authority is defined as, “the right to command; to take charge; to command; to enforce rule. Jesus stripped satan of the power he stole from man when He became “The Captain of our salvation” through His death, burial, and resurrection. With this selfless sacrifice, Jesus defeated the power of the devil, restored lost man to his God-ordained place, and reclaimed the authority that Adam lost. Praise God…hallelujah!

It has always been God’s plan that His appointed heir should have the authority to command and enforce rule in the earth. Although Adam failed to use his authority against the devil, Jesus succeeded. And because of what Jesus did on the cross, believers now have the divine legal right to take charge and command the works of the enemy to cease and desist in their operations against our dominion in the earth. The Good News for every believer today is in knowing that Christ has not left us at the mercy of life’s circumstances and situations. We’ve been given authority to command and conquer, in Jesus’ name, Amen!
