📖 “But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him. For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep. For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. Wherefore comfort one another with these words.”-1 Thessalonians 4:13-18 KJV
As believers, we do not look at death the way unbelievers do. Heaven is a real place and those who have accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior, transition there once they expire here on earth. When Christians die, we know that is not the end. We will see them again. If the rapture takes place before we perish, the dead in Christ will rise first, and then we will meet them in the air with the Lord. We are instructed to comfort one another with these words. It is not the will of God that any should perish and go there, so we must be about our Father’s business. We must tell people about Jesus, so they can spend eternity with the Father in Heaven. Sometimes we must remind ourselves that Heaven is not only real, but it is a place that is far superior to this earth. Knowing that we have a place reserved for us once we leave this earth, that is better than this earth. Knowing that this place is where deceased Christians go once, they leave this earth, should give us hope. It should cause us to live a life that is pleasing to God--a life that would not cause us to miss Heaven! #Heaven #vcccharlotte #salvation #JesusChrist
