πŸ“– "For we do not have a High Priest Who is unable to understand and sympathize and have a shared feeling with our weaknesses and infirmities and liability to the assaults of temptation, but One Who has been tempted in every respect as we are, yet without sinning. Let us then fearlessly and confidently and boldly draw near to the throne of grace (the throne of God’s unmerited favor to us sinners), that we may receive mercy [for our failures] and find grace to help in good time for every need [appropriate help and well-timed help, coming just when we need it].” -Hebrews 4:15-16 Amplified Bible Classic Edition

When Jesus came to the earth, He emptied Himself of everything that made Him God. He experienced what it was like to be mortal. He experienced hunger and fatigue. He was betrayed, and He was tempted. He experienced the same things that we experience. His experience on earth enabled him to be a faithful high priest for us. A high priest that can sympathize and understand what we are going through right now. We are assured that we can come boldly before the throne of grace and obtain help in the time of trouble. We are not alone in this world. Jesus is our advocate and our intercessor, and He is praying for us at the right hand of the Father. We have the assurance that whenever we find ourselves in a tight spot or a tough-looking situation, we can go to God knowing that we can receive well-timed help to get us out of every negative situation we face. We are never alone. We are never without help.
