Our words are powerful. When we find ourselves in a tough situation, we want to tell everyone. We want to give everyone the details. How we were wronged. What was said. How messed up everything was. But we must learn the importance of silence. Silence can be just as important as speaking sometimes. Jairus knew the importance of silence. When he found out his daughter had died, Jesus turned to him and told him not to fear. Jairus never said a word. He had already told Jesus that if He would lay His hands on his daughter, she would be healed. That was the last thing he said. Jairus did not say anything when he heard the bad news. He did not say anything when they got to the house. Jairus stayed silent until Jesus raised his daughter from the dead. Once we speak faith, we must keep our mouths shut, when we are tempted to speak doubt and unbelief. Unbelief and doubt will cost us our victory if we speak it. Let's be people of few words. Let's speak God’s Word and let His Word do the rest. His Word can handle any situation when we let it.
