📖 Now four men who were lepers were at the entrance of the city’s gate; and they said to one another, Why do we sit here until we die?

If we say, We will enter the city—then the famine is in the city, and we shall die there; and if we sit still here, we die also. So now come, let us go over to the army of the Syrians. If they spare us alive, we shall live; and if they kill us, we shall but die.

So they arose in the twilight and went to the Syrian camp. But when they came to the edge of the camp, no man was there.

And when these lepers came to the edge of the camp, they went into one tent and ate and drank, and carried away silver, gold, and clothing, and went and hid them [in the darkness]. Then they entered another tent and carried from there also and went and hid it.
—II Kings 7: 3-5; 8 AMPC

A parked car never goes anywhere. God wants us in motion. God wants us in pursuit of Him and His will for our lives. Even if God goes before us and makes crooked places straight, it is all in vain if we never walk the path that God created. There may be a time where we must be quiet, so the Lord can help us make the right moves. God had to tell Joshua to get up and take the land because he had mourned for Moses too long (Joshua 1:2). It is okay to pause sometimes, but then we must keep moving. God moved when the lepers moved. He caused the Syrians to think they were hearing chariots and horses when the lepers came their way. God knows how to direct us if we get on the wrong path. God may prod us. He may tell us to move, but He cannot make us move. Obedience is on us. When we are obedient and get in motion, good things are bound to happen.
