DAILY DEVOTIONAL | May 23rd

When things get tough, we tend to panic. We may even be tempted to worry and be anxious about it. But in times like this, we must be still and know that He is God. God can handle it. God knows the ins and the outs of the situation. God knows what it will take to overcome the situation and come out victorious. We must take the time to be still and to hear from God. We must hear from God and know that He will give us the keys to victory. Be still and know that He is God, the enemy will never get up early enough to get ahead of God. God already has the game plan. He knew the trap, before Satan tried to set it. The victory is yours, but to experience it, you must be still and know that He is God.

DAILY DEVOTIONAL | May 22nd

God’s eyes are constantly moving throughout the earth, looking to show Himself strong for someone. It might as well be you. We simply have to get God’s attention. Fatih is what grabs God’s attention. Our faith, which is released by our words. When God hears faith coming out of your mouth and sees that your actions line up with what you say, his intervention is inevitable. We must endeavor by the help of the Lord, to always speak the Word of God and to speak what we desire. God hears the words that we speak. In fact, the Bible tells us that Jesus is the High Priest of our confession. God wants to show Himself strong on our behalf, lets allow Him to do it. He can handle our situations so much better than we ever could.

When we put our trust in God, God will come through. There should always be a positive expectation. There should always be a confidence that because God cannot lie, it's just a matter of time before we receive the manifestation of His promise. Faith is the avenue that gives God access to our situations and circumstances. We must keep the “switch of faith turned on and have an earnest expectation, an expectation that God is showing up and showing out. When we maintain that expectation, we will not be disappointed in our expectations.

We all have missed it in life. Unfortunately, for many Christians, they have found themselves in a “backslidden” condition, a condition in which they are out of fellowship with God. If one finds themselves out of fellowship too long, they give the enemy access into their lives and experience one hardship after another. The great thing about God is that whenever we come to ourselves and come back to Him, He is always there to pick us up and to restore our fortunes. God can turn your life around, even when you are the reason it got into bad shape. God loves us and hates the devil. He hates the damage he does in His children’s lives, and out of His love for us, rescues us from the hardships. Love God, obey His commandments, and live for Him all the days of your life. Things have a way of turning around and getting better when you do.

This sounds a lot like redemption, doesn’t it? Regardless of what is going on in the world, as believers, we can expect God to protect us and to prosper us. It does not matter how many people are sick. It does not matter how many are struggling financially because of inflation or high gas prices, the struggle will not come near you. The sickness will not come near you. The ninth plague which God brought against the Egyptians was the plague of darkness. The Bible tells us that the darkness was so thick, that no one moved from their place for three days (Exodus 10:21-23). There was darkness in Egypt but there was light in Goshen (the place where God’s people dwelt). It may be dark in the world, but there can be light where you are. There may be plagues on the earth, but it does not have to come near you, you are the redeemed!

The subject matter of this Scripture is Jesus. Jesus knew why He was sent to the earth. He was sent here to set the captives free and to redeem humanity through His death, burial, and resurrection. Jesus had to trust His Father. He had to trust that God would do what He said He would do. He had to trust that God would not leave His soul in hell or allow Him to see corruption (Acts 2:27,31). When you know that you have heard from God, you too can set your face “like a flint”, knowing that God will come through for you and you will not be left looking ashamed. God loves you and when you look good, He looks good. Trust His plan, and do not be moved by what you see. We walk by faith and not by sight (2 Corinthians 5:7).

Nehemiah was on assignment. He was on assignment to rebuild the wall that had been in shambles. People laughed at him and ridiculed him, but at the end of the day, he knew who his source was. Nehemiah knew that the God of Heaven would prosper him. He knew that if God was for him, no one could successfully be his enemy. He knew that God’s hand and God’s favor was on his life. As children of the most High God, we have access to the same privileges. We have access to His favor, His protection, and His Blessing. The God of Heaven will prosper when we are where He wants us to be, doing what He wants us to do, and being obedient to what He has commanded us to do. The God of Heaven desires to prosper us and He will, as we labor with Him and endeavor to follow His leading.

DAILY DEVOTIONAL | May 16th

Jehoshaphat was in for the fight of his life. He was outgunned and outmanned. Despite all of the circumstances against him and the Israelites, he knew what to do. He declared a fast and they sought the Lord. After seeking God, they received a word from the Lord. God told them to not be afraid and that the battle was the Lord’s. He told them they would not have to fight; they would simply have to take their position and watch God work. In his impossible situation, Jehoshaphat did not look to himself or his resources. He knew that he was not strong enough. He knew that the Lord His God would have to come through for him or it was over. When dealing with an impossible situation, we must seek the Lord. He may have instructions for us to follow. There may be things that we need to know that only God can reveal to us. As we seek the Lord, we can be sure that victory is certain. As we receive instructions from Him and receive His Wisdom, we can be sure that God will fight for us. When we do what we are supposed to do, God will do what He has promised to do.

God was not pleased with the question that Moses had just asked. He had just told Moses that He had heard the people complaining, and He was going to give them what they desired. The people were tired of eating manna, and they wanted flesh (meat) to eat. God told them that He would give them enough meat to last them a whole month. Moses pretty much asked, “How God”? God did not like the question, because it questioned His ability. When God tells us something in His Word or speaks something to us in our spirit, the best thing for us to do is to simply believe. It is not up to us to make it happen. God is more than capable of bringing His promises to pass in our lives. Let's not question the ability of God. There is nothing too hard for Him. Everything is easy for Him; all we have to do is simply believe.

God will not only confirm His Word, but He will also confirm the call and the assignment that is on your life. When God has called you, the opposition has no chance. Korah and a group of men stood against Moses and even questioned his leadership. God not only confirmed that He had called Moses, but He also dealt with these men and made an example out of them. They did not die a common death, the earth swallowed them up along with their families and all their belongings. When we are on assignment, we can trust that God will not only fight for us, He will prove that we belong to Him.

The Bible tells us that God is love. God expects us to walk in love not only with our brothers and sisters in Christ, but He expects us to love everyone. The text says that love forgives and disregards the offenses of others. We as believers hate sin because God hates sin, but at the same time we must love the sinner because God loves people. We are all at different places in our relationship with God, so we must be patient with people the way God is patient with us. We must be merciful towards people because God is merciful towards us. Jesus said, in what they call the Sermon on the Mount, “Blessed are the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy.” We should extend mercy to everyone we meet because we never know when we might need some. Let us love people the way God does; it is a sure sign to the world of whom we belong to.

God’s will is prosperity. Many of us are aware of this. Many believers desire to walk in God’s prosperity.  A part of experiencing prosperity the way God desires for us to, is by walking in His commandments. Whatever God tells us to do, we must do it. Isaiah 1:19 tells us that if “you be willing and obedient, you shall eat the good of the land.” God wants us to enjoy life, and that is why He gave us His Word. God’s Word is the key to prosperity. As we continue to meditate on it day and night and operate as doers of what we read, it is just a matter of time before we experience God’s prosperity in our own lives. It is only a matter of time because God is not a man that He should lie (Numbers 23:19).

As we live this Christian life, one decision we must make, is to be finished with a life of sin. We must make the decision that sin will have no more dominion over us. When we understand how destructive sin is, we would want nothing else to do with it. The Bible tells us that the wages of sin is death (Romans 6:23). Sin is selfish. When we are living a life of sin, we are seeking to please ourselves and not our Heavenly Father. We must get to the place where we live for what He wants and not what we want. We must be spiritually minded and not carnally minded. Let us dedicate ourselves and our lives to God and live for Him, it is the best life that we can live.

We have all gone through tough times. As the text says, we have gone “through the fire and the water.” Sometimes when you are going through a challenging time, we tend to give the circumstances our attention as opposed to keeping our eyes on God. As we keep our eyes on God eventually, we can expect to not bring us out, but to bring us out int a wealthy place. In the amplified version, it says that He will bring us into a place of abundance. God will always give you double for your trouble. He gave Job twice as much as he had before Satan attacked him. God not only knows how to restore, but you will come out looking better than you did before the attack. God knows how to bring you in to a wealthy place, a place that is better than anything that you could ever dare to dream or imagine.

God is a God of vision. God has a vision for all of us but there are several keys to fulfilling the vision. First, we must write the vision. Writing the vision reminds us of where we are headed. Secondly, we must wait for the vision. We must become what God has preordained for us to walk in. That process takes time. It could take several years, but eventually as we allow God to develop us, we will attain what He has preordained for us. Though the vision may tarry, we must wait for it, knowing that the vision will come to fruition. Eventually we will walk in all that God has for us.

DAILY DEVOTIONAL | May 8th

Moses had just given the children of Israel great news. God had told him to tell them that He was coming to set them free and bring them into a good land. You would have thought that the Israelites would have been excited and would have believed the Word of the Lord. However, because of the length of their enslavement, they allowed anger and bitterness to develop in their hearts. They had been in that situation so long that they could not see themselves out of that bondage. God eventually caused the Israelites to be free, and they would eventually enter the promised land after wandering for forty years in the wilderness. Sometimes we can be in an unpleasant situation so long, that we become bitter and impatient, and we cannot see a way out, even if God’s Word promises us a way out. We must get to a place where no matter how bad it gets and how long it takes, God will see us through. Keep your heart clean, and keep your eyes on God. He’s able! He’s able to deliver you and to set you free. He is able to do exceedingly, abundantly above all that you could ever ask or think.

The true scope of life is God. We are to dedicate our lives to God. We are to live our lives for God’s glory. God created man to fellowship with Him. When we leave this earth, whether it is through the rapture or by natural death after living a long life, we will spend eternity with God, if we are born again. God should be our everything. Deuteronomy 6:5 tells us to “love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all of your soul, and with all your strength.” Our lives are to revolve around God, and He should be our everything. If He is not, you can always change that. As you come close to God, He will come close to you.

DAILY DEVOTIONAL | May 6th

The Israelites had just lost a battle at Ai, and Joshua was before the Lord seeking answers. Joshua was unaware that one of his men had been disobedient and took some of the spoil that they were instructed not to take. The battle at Ai should have been an easy battle, but instead they lost, and thirty-six men were killed. God was letting Joshua know that there was sin in the camp and that until it had been dealt with, they would continue to lose. In our own lives, when things aren’t going well, we must examine ourselves and make sure that there is not an “accursed thing” in our lives. We must make sure that we are in obedience and that we are not living a life of sin. Sin is what opens the door for the devil to come in and wreak havoc in our lives. Once we clean things up in the spirit world, we can be assured that things will get better. When things are a little rough, it may not be sin, it could just be an attack of the devil, and that is when we just exercise our authority and resist the devil. Victory is all that God has in mind when it comes to our lives. When things are not going the way they should, we should seek His Face knowing that He will instruct us and guide us in the way that we should go.

DAILY DEVOTIONAL | May 5th

In Joshua 5, God instructed Joshua to have the men circumcised who had been born and raised in the wilderness. The original generation that had come out of Egypt had died in the wilderness and it was now time for the next generation to possess the promised land. Before they could do this, they would have to be circumcised. Circumcision was simply a reminder of their covenant with Almighty God. God was letting them know that they were no longer to see themselves as slaves, they were to see themselves as covenant men. Whenever they would encounter any situation, they would remind themselves that they were covenant men and were about to experience all that God had for them. If we are to walk in what God has for us, we must forget the sins of the past, and remind ourselves of who we are in Christ. Once we get a revelation of who we are in Christ, we can enjoy the benefits that God has promised us in His Word.

God and His Word are one. God’s Word can do anything that He can do. If God is a Healer, then it is not too difficult to see that His Word can heal as well. Our Scripture reference tells us that He (God) sent His Word and healed them. God’s Word had a mission: to heal and that is exactly what His Word did. It reminds us of Isaiah 55:11: His Word will not come back to Him void, but it shall accomplish that which He pleases, and it will prosper in the thing that He sends it. You can stand on the Word of God, and you can expect to win. You can expect God to do what He said He would do because He is not a man that He should lie.
