DAILY DEVOTIONAL | June 12th

Determination is an important characteristic. Many have been determined to lose weight; to get out of debt; to save money; and to accomplish many other things. For us to reach our goals, we must be determined. We must be so determined that it does not matter what opposition, criticism, or obstacles we face, we will accomplish what we set out to do. Unfortunately, Pilate was not determined enough. He knew that Jesus did not do anything worthy of death and wanted to release him. He allowed the crowds and the Pharisees to change his mind and make a decision that he knew was wrong about. We must endeavor not to allow this to happen in our own lives. When we make a decision, we must be determined to see it through, no matter what. We can be determined because we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us. (Philippians 4:13).

DAILY DEVOTIONAL | June 11th

Some people store up food for a later time. Others stock up on supplies in the event of an emergency. As believers we are constantly storing the Word of God in our hearts. When you squeeze a tube of toothpaste, you expect toothpaste to come out. When Satan tries to put the squeeze on us, the only thing that comes out is the Word. Jesus said, “Out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks (Matthew 12:34). When the Word of God is in your heart in abundance, you cannot help but speak the Word because you will only speak out of the overflow of what’s in your heart. Always keep the Word of God in your heart. If you feed your heart the Word when times are good, your heart will feed your mouth the Word when times aren’t so good.

DAILY DEVOTIONAL | June 10th

The Israelites were in the process of possessing the land. It was imperative that they follow God and to be where He wanted them to be. The ark of the covenant was what “housed” the presence of the Lord. If they were to succeed in possessing the Promised Land, they would have to follow the ark of the covenant. When the ark moved, they were to move. If the ark did not move, they would not move either. If we are to experience God’s best and all that He has for our lives, we must stay in sync with the Spirit of God. We should only move when He tells us to move. Our lives should be governed and controlled by the Spirit of God. As we continue to fellowship with God through prayer and the reading of His Word, we will stay sensitive to the Spirit of God, and we will stay alert to His promptings and His leading. God said in His Word that He will teach us to profit and lead us in the way that we should go (Isaiah 48:17).

DAILY DEVOTIONAL | June 9th

God’s thoughts towards us are always good. It is His desire that we live the good life that He has preordained for us to live. For us to experience that good life, we must think God’s thoughts. Verse six of our text tells us that the mind of the Spirit is life and peace. We experience the life and peace as we walk with God. Walking with God includes reading His Word and spending time with Him in prayer. This allows us to become spiritual minded and we become more aware of His Presence. When your mind is on pleasing your flesh, you will eventually experience death [or destruction in some area of your life. You could experience destruction of your dreams, to your finances, or in some area of your life. Death [or destruction] is inevitable because the wages of sin is death. Satan desires to bring destruction in our lives and we cannot give him any place. Let us decide to become more spiritual minded. Let us walk with God and allow Him to cause spiritual well-being in our lives. It is His will that we prosper and be in health even as our soul prospers.

DAILY DEVOTIONAL | June 8th

God called Abraham, “a father of many nations,” when he was childless, and his wife was barren. God called into existence what did not exists. In the King James Version, it says that God “calleth those things that be not as though they were.” Your dreams may appear dead. The promises of God may appear to be non-existent in your life, but we have to be imitators of God. We can speak those things that do not exist into existence. God gave us His Word so that we can change our lives and our circumstances. We must believe that God can resurrect whatever appears to be dead in our lives. He has also given us the ability to create what we cannot currently see with our natural eyes. We can speak things into existence the way God does. We can be imitators of God.

DAILY DEVOTIONAL | June 7th

We see in this verse that God desires several things from us. He wants us to live a life that is pleasing unto Him. We know that the faith life is a life that is pleasing unto God because without faith it is impossible to please Him (Hebrews 11:6). Another way of pleasing God is living a consecrated, holy life. A life that is dedicated to Him and walking in His Word. God also desires for us to experience increase in our lives. According to this verse, one way to experience increase is through increasing in the knowledge of the Word of God. As we increase in our time in the Word, increase will take place in our lives. The Word of God tells us, “So mightily grew the Word and prevailed” (Acts 19:20). As we increase in the things of God, we can expect things to increase in our lives. When we seek first the kingdom of God, and His righteousness, all the things will be added unto us. (Matthew 6:33)

DAILY DEVOTIONAL | June 6th

David had become king over Israel and after becoming king, He remembered Jonathan, his covenant friend. David had desired to show kindness to a descendant of Jonathan but could not locate one. Finally, Ziba, a servant from Saul’s house, told David about Mephibosheth, the grandson of Saul. Mephibosheth was crippled in his feet because he was dropped as a baby. Mephibosheth did not know about the covenant David had with his father. He was simply the beneficiary. Because of the covenant between David and his father, Jonathan, Mephibosheth could now eat at the king’s table. It’s important that we too understand the covenant agreement that God has with us. We did not do anything to deserve it, we simply come to the king’s table and eat. Our covenant with God is stronger than David and Jonathan’s. Our benefits are far better, and so is our covenant. Let us walk in our benefits on today. Let us come to the table and eat. It belongs to us!

God is concerned about the details of our lives. In this passage, God had instructed Moses to number the people. God not only gave the assignment, but He also assigned the people Who He wanted to assist Moses. This might not seem like a monumental task, but God already knew who He wanted to help Moses with this assignment. God is no respecter of persons. Whatever He has called you to do, He has called people to help you. He has also called you to help someone or some organization. God is a God of specifics. He knows how to put the right team together to get a job done. That is why prayer is so important when it comes to placement. We must be where He wants us to be, and not where we think we should be. A part of walking in the Blessing is to be where He assigns us. It is not good enough to know what to do, we must also know where to do it as well.

DAILY DEVOTIONAL | June 4th

God is an awesome God. We will not know until we get to Heaven, all it took to create this universe and the world that we live in. There is no telling how long it would take for us to grasp the complexity of the makeup of our world and the universe. When you look up at the sky, and see all the stars, just imagine the infinite number of galaxies out there in outer space. Consider the oceans and the seas, notice how they never come but so far on the shore. All that water could cause so much damage and yet it does not because of God’s decree. The same God that created the earth, dwells on the inside of you. The same God that calculated the dust of the earth and weighed the mountains in scales also planned your life. He knows the plan of every life on the planet, and there are a few billion people on the earth! What an AWESOME God we serve! If God created the earth, and it is still operating and functioning in all its complexity, how much more can we expect our lives to turnout if He is the One who planned it? Allow God to fulfill His plans for your life, He is more than capable of handling it.

Do you find yourself getting weary at times? We all have times in our lives when we just feel tired. There are times when you can feel “out of it.” God has given us a promise here in His Word. He tells us that He will ‘renew our strength like the eagles.’  We have the Spirit of God dwelling on the inside of us. He will energize us. He will infuse His life on the inside of us and will give us SUPERNATURAL strength. As we stand on this promise, we can expect God to strengthen us and to cause us to experience strength and power that will astound us. He is still able to do exceedingly, abundantly, above all that we ask or think.

One of the best things we can do as believers is to allow God to bring His purposes to pass in our lives. As the texts says, Whatever God does, it endures, and nothing can be added or taken away from it. No human being, no entity, nothing can stop the work of God. Nothing can hinder God. It is stated in His Word multiple times that what God wants to do, no man can stop it, hinder it, or reverse it. No one can stop God. When God places His stamp of approval on you or your works, people will have no choice but to acknowledge that it was God. Don’t ask God to bless your plans, just simply walk in His plans, they are already blessed.

DAILY DEVOTIONAL | June 1st

God doesn’t like it when we complain. He was displeased with the Israelites because they complained in the wilderness every time they came across a hard place. God was displeased because He had met every need they had in the past. He had freed them from slavery. He had caused them to escape Pharoah’s army by splitting the Red Sea and allowing them to walk on dry ground. He performed miracle after miracle, and yet they complained and questioned the ability of God. We cannot look down on the Israelites. Many of us have seen the hand of God multiple times, and yet we still complain and act like we do not have a God. Let us put a guard on our mouths, not just when the ungodly are around, but let's ALWAYS watch our words. Complaining not only displeases God, but it shows a lack of confidence in God’s ability. The last thing we want to do is displease God. If you must talk about your situation, let God know that He is more than capable of handling your situation. Speak what you desire, not what you have. Jesus said you will have what you say if you don’t doubt it in your heart. (Mark 11:23).

DAILY DEVOTIONAL | May 31st

Just as we saw in yesterday’s passage, God was getting ready to move on behalf of His people. He’d spoken to His servant Moses and given him the heads up about His plans to use plagues to motivate Pharoah to finally let the people go. God had instructed Moses to tell the people to borrow from the Egyptians jewels of silver and jewels of gold. Because of the favor that the Israelites had, they received what they asked of the Egyptians. Moses was also seen as a powerful man in the eyes of the people. When you obey God and do what you are asked to do, God will magnify you. He will also give you favor, and people will be willing to do things for you that they might not do for others, just because of the hand of God that is on your life. Stay sensitive to the Holy Spirit and obey whenever He speaks to you. If you be willing and obedient, you will eat the good of the land! (Isaiah 1:19).

God was in the process of setting His people free from bondage. He had sent nine plagues upon the land of Egypt, and He was letting Moses know that He had one more that He was going to put on the land before Pharoah would release the Israelites. God already knew the future, and He was making Moses aware of what was going to happen next. Just like God made Moses aware of what was going to happen next, He will do the same with us. God knows the future, and as we walk with Him, He will give us a heads up on what’s up the road, even our way of escape. In the times we are living in, it is important for us to continue to walk with God daily so that we are accustomed to His voice. God does not want us caught off guard. He loves us, and He is always one step ahead of the devil.

God is to be our Source. The psalmist called out to the Lord, and God helped him. He understood that God was the only One that could help him. He also understood that it was better to put his trust in God rather than to put his trust in man. Man is limited in his intellect and in his resources. In contrast, God is UNLIMITED. There is no limit to what He can do. God is all-knowing and all-powerful. So, keep your trust in God and His Word. When our trust is in God, we can trust that He can handle our problems and circumstances better than any man, regardless of his position.

When it comes to walking with God, challenges can hit us and cause us to question God’s ability. When those moments happen, we must remember the past victories that we have experienced. Those are the times that we must remember how God had come through for us over and over again. God has not changed. His hand is not short, and He has not lost His ability to help. God knows how to bring to pass His purposes for our lives, and we must trust Him to do so. God has a plan of escape before the enemy springs his trap. Keep your eyes on God and His Word. They have not changed, and they will get you through.

Jotham became king when he was twenty-five years old. In verse two of this chapter, the Bible tells us that he did what was right in the sight of the Lord. When we please God, it causes Him to do things for us. When a child pleases his parent, it causes the parent to want to do something for their children. It's just something that is on the inside of us. When we please our Heavenly Father, it causes good things to happen in our lives. God is pleased with us when we are determined to live the way He wants us to. Our success comes as we are doers of the Word of God. Be determined to live the way God instructs us to, you will always be glad that you did.

Jesus was aware that it was time for Him to go to the cross. It was time for Him to complete His mission. The verse says that He was fully aware that God had put everything into His Hands, and He was about to go back to the Father. Just like Jesus was aware of where He was in God’s timing concerning His plan for His life, we can have the same awareness when it comes to His plan for our lives. As we fellowship with God and walk with Him daily, we too can become “fully aware” of God’s timing in His plans and purposes for our lives.

God’s eyes are on us, and He promised to never leave us. God loves us and cares for us. He is always looking to show Himself strong on our behalf. On the flip side, God is a holy God and God is against sin. Sin entered the earth when man fell in the Garden of Eden. Sin is an enemy of God, and sin cannot stand in the presence of a holy God. If we are living a life of sin, God is against our lifestyle, and God is limited in what He can do for us.

The Bible tells us that if we are a friend of the world, we are an enemy of God. The world is full of sin, and Satan is the god of this world. If we are practicing sin, we are in cahoots with God’s enemy, and it will cause God to be opposed to us. Thank God for His mercy. He is always ready to receive us when we confess our sins. The Bible tells us that when we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us of our sin and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness (I John 1:9). Let's continue to pursue God. Let’s endeavor to walk out His righteousness and live a consecrated, holy life. Let's live for God and keep God on our side.

Have you ever watched a potter working on a piece of clay? He is molding it and shaping it. He has an idea in his mind of what he wants the clay to ultimately look like. He knows what the result is going to be. Well in our own lives, God is the potter, and we are the clay. He already knows what the result is going to be. He already knows what He desires us to look like. The clay does not go against its creator. The clay does not fight against the potter. The clay allows the potter to shape it into what the potter had in mind the whole time. God desires us to be like the clay. He wants us to allow Him to make us what He has already imagined in His mind for us. Let's not fight against the process. Let us allow God to shape and mold us. Let’s allow Him to complete what He has started in us.
