📖 "Samuel replied, “Has the Lord as much pleasure in your burnt offerings and sacrifices as in your obedience? Obedience is far better than sacrifice. He is much more interested in your listening to him than in your offering the fat of rams to him.” -I Samuel 15:22 The Living Bible

Obedience is important to God. It shows honor and respect. God even says that if we are willing and obedient, we will eat the good of the land. Children are encouraged to obey their parents so that it will be well with them. Obedience shows trust. It demonstrates that you trust the person that is giving the command and that they have your best interest at heart. You trust that they would never ask you to do something that would be harmful to you. God loves us, so when He asks us to do something, it is always for our good. God is always trying to bless us. Every good gift and every perfect gift comes from Him.

📖 "We never give up. Our bodies are gradually dying, but we ourselves are being made stronger each day." -2 Corinthians 4:16 Contemporary English Version

As believers, we should commit to the stance that we never give up. Never. We never give up on God. We never give up on the promises of God. We never give up on ourselves. Whenever you want to give up, your eyes are on the wrong thing. We keep our eyes on God’s Word. We keep our eyes on the unseen. We understand that the things that are seen are temporary. The things that are unseen are eternal. If you can see it with your eyes, it is subject to change. God is not a quitter, and He is on the inside of us. He will push forward. He will keep you going. He will cause you to overcome in every area of your life. Greater is He that is in you than He that is in the world. That alone should cause you to never give up. So, trust Him. He will never let you down.

📖 "But on that day I will separate and set apart the land of Goshen, where My people are living, so that no swarms of insects will be there, so that you may know [without any doubt] and acknowledge that I, the Lord, am in the midst of the earth. I will put a division (distinction) between My people and your people. By tomorrow this sign shall be in evidence." -Exodus 8:22-23 Amplified Bible

We have been translated out of the kingdom of darkness, and we have been translated into the kingdom of God. God will take care of those who are inside of His kingdom; He will take care of His own. God set a distinction between the Israelites and the Egyptians. The chaos and the damage that was taking place in Egypt was not taking place in Goshen. There may be chaos and destruction taking place in the world, but it doesn’t have to affect us. We are in the kingdom of God. Satan is the god(ruler) of this world, which is why the world is in the shape that it is in. God desires to shield us from what is going on in the world. We can have prosperity in a famine. We can walk in divine health in the middle of “flu season.” We can have peace while the rest of the world is nervous and troubled about tomorrow. We may be in this world, but we are not of it. We function in another realm. We are to function in the kingdom of God.

📖 "I will bless the Lord at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth.” -Psalm 34:1 Amplified Bible Classic Edition

We are to bless the Lord at all times. When things are going well, we bless the Lord. When things are going wrong, we bless the Lord. We are to praise God no matter what. Praise stills the avenger. The Word of God tells us that the Lord inhabits the praises of His people. When Paul and Silas were imprisoned, they sang praises to God and shook the prison. Praise brings God onto the scene. When Jehoshaphat went to war, God told Him to send the praisers out ahead of him. The battle was won after the praisers began to praise God. We will win more battles when we learn to praise Him more. You may not be able to fight the battle, but victory is imminent when God comes on the scene. He always causes us to triumph.

📖 "Where could I go from Your Spirit? Or where could I flee from Your presence? If I ascend up into heaven, You are there; if I make my bed in Sheol (the place of the dead), behold, You are there. If I take the wings of the morning or dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea, Even there shall Your hand lead me, and Your right hand shall hold me." -Psalm 139:7-11 Amplified Bible Classic Edition

God is always everywhere. We cannot get away from His presence. If you are a believer, this is a good thing. This means that when we find ourselves in a tight spot, He is there. When life gets hard, He is there. When we need solutions to our problems, He is there. We can call upon the Lord at any time and know that He is already there. It does not matter if we are at sea, on an airplane, or underground on the subway, God is with us. God said in His Word that He would never leave us or forsake us. It should be comforting to us that our Almighty God will never leave our side. If our lives do not line up with the Word of God, this could be unwelcome news. That means that God sees the sin that mankind is involved in. It pays to obey God and to honor His Word, then to suffer shame and embarrassment because of the consequences of our negative actions. Thank God for His mercy. He said that once we ask forgiveness of our sins, He will remember our sins no more. Let us stay aware of God’s presence. His eyes are running throughout the earth looking to show Himself strong. He wants to move on your behalf too.

📖 "God is faithful (reliable, trustworthy, and therefore ever true to His promise, and He can be depended on); by Him you were called into companionship and participation with His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord." -I Corinthians 1:9 Amplified Bible Classic Edition

God is faithful to His Word. It is impossible for Him to lie. It is a divine truth that He cannot lie. God’s Word is the only means we have of trusting Him. We cannot see God nor can we touch Him. We can read God’s Word, and we can trust Him. In fact, trusting God’s Word is like trusting God Himself. When we choose to believe God’s Word, it causes a dependency on Him just like you would depend on the word of a man or woman. We trust man daily. We trust the bank. We trust our supervisors. We trust the doctor. Unfortunately, sometimes we tend to trust everyone and everything except God, when he is more dependable than man. He is more faithful than any man. We must get to a place where we can put more trust in what we read in God’s Word, than what we hear from the words of a man. Man may let you down, but God will not. He is reliable, trustworthy, and ever true to His promise, and He can be depended on.

📖 "We are workers together with God. So we beg you: Do not let the grace that you received from God be for nothing." -2 Corinthians 6:1 International Children’s Bible

We are God’s representatives in the Earth. We are His hands, and we are His feet. We are workers together with Him. The things that God desires to accomplish in earth will require our cooperation. We are to depend on God, but we must also remember that God is depending on us. We must also not forget that we are what we are by the grace of God. We must never take the grace of God for granted, for without Him, we are nothing. Out of appreciation for His grace, we must stay in tune with the Spirit of God and walk with God. We are co-laborers with God, attacking the kingdom of darkness and taking ground for the kingdom of God. God depends on us, and we cannot let Him down.

📖 "[The Father] has delivered and drawn us to Himself out of the control and the dominion of darkness and has transferred us into the kingdom of the Son of His love," -Colossians 1:13 Amplified Bible Classic Edition

When we get born again, we no longer belong to the kingdom of darkness.  Satan is no longer our lord, and he has no authority over us. We have been taken out of the kingdom of Satan and translated into the kingdom of God. God’s kingdom is greater than Satan’s. It is a far superior kingdom. It is a kingdom of abundance, prosperity, dominion, and authority. We have been given power over the enemy and nothing shall hurt us (Luke 10:19). We must learn to operate in this new kingdom. Because of the superiority of the Kingdom of God, we can expect to overcome every evil tactic of the enemy. God ways are higher than our ways. His ways are also higher than that of the kingdom of darkness. As we grow in the things of the kingdom, we can expect more victories in our lives. We are in a kingdom of victory.

📖 "I am the Lord; that is my name; I don’t hand out my glory to others or my praise to idols. The things announced in the past—look—they’ve already happened, but I’m declaring new things. Before they even appear, I tell you about them.” -Isaiah 42: 8-9 Common English Bible

God has a record of accomplishment. He has kept His Word for thousands of years and will continue because He does not change. Throughout the Bible, God spoke about the things that would take place in the future. Sometimes it took a few years. Other times, it took hundreds of years, but eventually, it happened. Some things have yet to come to pass, but we know that the fulfillment of it is on the horizon. We can rest assured that if God promised it, He will cause it to manifest in our lives as we stand on the Word of God and believe Him for it. Once things have manifested in our lives, God doesn’t want us to stop looking to Him. He wants to do things in our lives that we have never experienced before. He desires to take us from glory to glory. It starts with a declaration. When God begins to reveal things that He desires to do in our lives, we have to declare them. Our declaration is our approval and a demonstration that we agree with God. As we decree these things, we are showing that there is an expectancy that we expect God to do some new things in our lives. The best is yet to come.

📖 "He personally bore our sins in His [own] body on the tree [as on an altar and offered Himself on it], that we might die (cease to exist) to sin and live to righteousness. By His wounds you have been healed." -I Peter 2:24 Amplified Bible Classic Edition

When Jesus died on the cross for us, there was a two-fold redemption: a redemption from sin and sickness. Jesus’s sacrifice freed us from the power of sin and the sickness. We do not have to be a slave to sin or any other habit that is displeasing to God. When sin came into the earth through the fall of mankind, sickness entered in as well. It’s important to know that we do not have to be sick any more than we have to be in bondage to sin. God set us free from both. So, NEVER FORGET: you are not only righteous, but you are also healed.

📖 "Don’t lie to each other. You’ve gotten rid of the person you used to be and the life you used to live, and you’ve become a new person. This new person is continually renewed in knowledge to be like its Creator. Where this happens, there is no Greek or Jew, circumcised or uncircumcised, barbarian, uncivilized person, slave, or free person. Instead, Christ is everything and in everything." -Colossians 3:9-11 God’s Word Translation

When we get born again, the old man has passed away, and we become new creatures in Christ (2 Corinthians 5:17). For our lives to reflect the change that took place on the inside, we must put on the new man by renewing our minds to the Word of God. As we learn to think like God and to talk like God, we will eventually get to the place where we will live like God. It doesn’t matter what color you are, what your nationality is, or how you were raised, we who are born again, are all ONE in Christ. The extent to which you renew your mind will be the extent in which you become more like your Creator, God the Father. He loves you and desires for you to grow in the things of God so that you can become an imitator of God. Every child should desire to be like their parent, especially when that parent is a good one. How much more should we desire to be like our Heavenly Father?

📖 “Therefore there is now no condemnation [no guilty verdict, no punishment] for those who are in Christ Jesus [who believe in Him as personal Lord and Savior]." -Romans 8:1 Amplified Bible

The devil wants to torment us. One way He does so is by constantly reminding us of our past. He wants to remind us of our past failures, past mistakes, and past sins. When we are in Christ and accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior, our past is under the Blood of Jesus. He cleanses us from all sin, and we become the righteousness of God. God removes the guilty stains of sin. We no longer have to be ashamed of what we were before Jesus became the Lord of our lives. We can walk around knowing that we are in right standing with God. Satan is the accuser and condemner. Don’t give him a voice in your life. The only opinion that should matter is God’s. God says you are His child, and He sees you as righteous. God sees you as an overcomer. God sees you as victorious. We should see ourselves the same way. We are more than conquerors!

📖 “Be still and know (recognize, understand) that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations! I will be exalted in the earth. -Psalm 46:10 Amplified Bible

There are times in our lives when life seems overwhelming. We must deal with issues our jobs, in our families, financial issues, health issues and more. Sometimes, we just need to be still and know that He is God. We must know there is nothing too difficult for Him. We must be still and reflect on His goodness and His faithfulness. We remind ourselves of His promises and His integrity. The devil wants us to just think about our problems. He wants us to fret and worry. You cannot worry when you know that He is God and that He is moving on your behalf. You can’t be in despair when you walk with Him. We must be still and know that He is God. He is not just our God, but He is our Father. He is looking to help His children. Afterall, that is what every great Father does, especially when He is capable. Our God is more than capable; yes, our Heavenly Father is well able.

📖 “But when He, the Spirit of Truth, comes, He will guide you into all the truth [full and complete truth]. For He will not speak on His own initiative, but He will speak whatever He hears [from the Father—the message regarding the Son], and He will disclose to you what is to come [in the future].” -John 16:13 Amplified Bible

God wants to lead and guide us. God has a path that He has preordained for us to walk in. For us to follow the path, we must follow our guide, the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit receives from the Father and discloses to us what the Father has said and what He wants us to do. We may not know what the future holds, but God does. He sees the end from the beginning. He knows the answer to our problems before the problem even manifests. You can never get ahead of God. No problem takes God off guard. As we serve Him and fellowship with Him, He will lead us and guide us. He will reveal to us what is to come. He will show us the future.

📖 “Don't be like the people of this world, but let God change the way you think. Then you will know how to do everything that is good and pleasing to him.” -Romans 12:2 Contemporary English Version

As we continue to walk with God, we must continue to renew our minds to the Word of God. God has given us His Word to change our thinking. In order to live on a higher level, we must think on a higher because as a man thinketh, so is he (Proverbs 23:7). Our outer world is simply a reflection of our inner world. As you feed on the Word of God, it will change your image. It will change how you see yourself and a correlation will take place on the outside. God doesn’t have limitations. All things are possible with Him. His Word tells us that all things are possible with us as well. We are made in God’s image, and we are capable of living in victory the way He walks in victory. The Word of God even tells us that as He is (Jesus), so are we in this world. God expects us to rule and reign as kings in this life. As we renew our minds to the Word of God, eventually we too will reign.

📖 “Christ gives me the strength to face anything.” -Philippians 4:13 Contemporary English Version

One of the greatest truths that we can embrace is that we have the Greater One on the inside of us. His strength is our strength. His ability is our ability. We can face all that the devil brings our way because of the ability on the inside of us. Jesus said He has given us physical and mental strength and ability over all the enemy's power (Luke 10:19 Amplified Classic). We have a strength that we can draw from at any time. We cannot lose when we live from the inside out.

📖 “My son, attend to my words; consent and submit to my sayings. Let them not depart from your sight; keep them in the center of your heart. For they are life to those who find them, healing and health to all their flesh. Keep and guard your heart with all vigilance and above all that you guard, for out of it flow the springs of life." -Proverbs 4:20-23 Amplified Bible Classic Edition

We must endeavor to keep our eyes on God’s Word if we are going to walk the faith walk that God has instructed us to walk. We are faith people, and faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God. As we put the Word of God in our hearts and keep it there, the Word will produce. The Word will produce what it promises. The Word will bring healing, peace, prosperity, provision, and anything else we will need in this life. We must protect our hearts from doubt and unbelief. Those things will choke the Word and keep it from producing in our lives. As we stay diligent in protecting of our hearts, we will see the results that the Word of God promises. God’s Word always works.

📖 “Lay down the knife; don't hurt the lad in any way," the Angel said, "for I know that God is first in your life-you have not withheld even your beloved son from me." -Genesis 22:12 TLB

God tested Abraham. Not only did He want to see if Abraham would honor the covenant, but he also wanted to test his loyalty. God knew how much Abraham loved his son, but he wanted to see if he loved him more than God. Abraham passed the test. He was literally about to bring the knife down on his son when God told him to stop. Abraham proved his loyalty to the covenant and that God was number one in his life. God wants to be number one and a priority in our lives too. He doesn't want us to love anyone or anything more than Him. When you go all out for God, God will go all out for you. You can't outdo God.

📖 “I’ll go ahead of you, clearing and paving the road. I’ll break down bronze city gates, smash padlocks, kick down barred entrances. I’ll lead you to buried treasures, secret caches of valuables— Confirmations that it is, in fact, I, God, the God of Israel, who calls you by your name. -Isaiah 45:2-3 The Message Bible

As we enter the new year, we can enter it knowing that God is going ahead of us, clearing, and paving the road that we are supposed to be on. When we stay on His road, the road will be cleared and paved for us. When we choose to go another way instead, we must clear the path and pave the road. God’s desire is that we take the road that He makes for us. As we stay on His road, there will be blessings that will come our way. We expect our lives to get better because God will use that to confirm that we are on the right path. Sometimes when we are embarking on what God has called us to do, there may obstacles and challenges along the way, but we can be sure that God will fight our battles. God will confirm that we belong to Him and that we are exactly where He wants us to be. Obeying God doesn’t cost, it pays.

📖 “The eyes of the Lord are toward the [uncompromisingly] righteous and His ears are open to their cry. The face of the Lord is against those who do evil, to cut off the remembrance of them from the earth. When the righteous cry for help, the Lord hears, and delivers them out of all their distress and troubles." -Psalm 34:15-17 Amplified Bible Classic Edition

It pays to be a child of God. Being a member of the Body of Christ has its privileges. As we walk with God and serve Him, we know that if we find ourselves in trouble, we can get God’s attention when we cry out to Him. It's not a cry of despair, it’s a cry of faith. When we act in faith, we can expect God to move on our behalf. When we act in faith, we are simply acting on the Word of God. God tells us that when we ask, we can expect to receive. If we ask God for help, we can expect to receive it. He hears us when we call, and He delivers us from all troubles. It does not matter what type of trouble you find yourself; God is always able to deliver. God will always honor His Word in our lives. He is watching over His Word to perform it.
