📖 "Do not let your hearts be troubled (distressed, agitated). You believe in and adhere to and trust in and rely on God; believe in and adhere to and trust in and rely also on Me." -John 14:1 Amplified Bible Classic Edition

As believers, we should be walking in peace on a daily basis. Jesus would not tell us to do something if we weren’t capable of doing it. We must see to it that our hearts are not troubled. No matter what we are facing in life, we can face it knowing we win because we are trusting and relying on God. It is our responsibility not to allow ourselves to be distressed or agitated. It is our responsibility to keep our eyes on the Word of God. We get distressed when our eyes are on the wrong thing. We get agitated when we are occupied with our circumstances instead of what the Word of God says. God will keep us in perfect peace when we keep our minds stayed on Him (Isaiah 26:3). We can have peace in this troubled world. We can have joy in the middle of the storm. If we couldn’t, Jesus wouldn’t have told us to do it. We can do it. We can do all things through Christ who strengthens us.

📖 "Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers [do not make mismated alliances with them or come under a different yoke with them, inconsistent with your faith]. For what partnership have right living and right standing with God with iniquity and lawlessness? Or how can light have fellowship with darkness? What harmony can there be between Christ and Belial [the devil]? Or what has a believer in common with an unbeliever? What agreement [can there be between] a temple of God and idols? For we are the temple of the living God; even as God said, I will dwell in and with and among them and will walk in and with and among them, and I will be their God, and they shall be My people. So, come out from among [unbelievers], and separate (sever) yourselves from them, says the Lord, and touch not [any] unclean thing; then I will receive you kindly and treat you with favor, And I will be a Father to you, and you shall be My sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty. -2 Corinthians 6:14-18 Amplified Bible Classic Edition

God wants there to be a separation between the world and His people. We are to be the light of the world. We are the salt of the earth. The Blessing of God manifesting in our lives is the calling card to the world. It should draw the world to us because we are experiencing the goodness of God, despite all the ills that are taking place in the world. God wants to pour out His goodness on His sons and daughters. One way to make that happen is to separate ourselves from the world. We can be in this world, but we don’t have to be of the world. We don’t have to talk like the world, and we don’t have to have the world’s mentality. When Jesus was on the earth, He did not associate with the devil or His works. He set the people free from the oppression of the enemy. We must be like Jesus. The devil had nothing in Him, and the enemy must not have anything in us. We are the temple of the living God. He is living in us and walking in us. We are His ambassadors, and we should look and act like it every day of our lives.

📖 "When He had stopped speaking, He said to Simon (Peter), Put out into the deep [water], and lower your nets for a haul. And Simon (Peter) answered, Master, we toiled all night [exhaustingly] and caught nothing [in our nets]. But on the ground of Your word, I will lower the nets [again]. And when they had done this, they caught a great number of fish; and as their nets were [at the point of] breaking, They signaled to their partners in the other boat to come and take hold with them. And they came and filled both the boats, so that they began to sink. But when Simon Peter saw this, he fell down at Jesus’ knees, saying, Depart from me, for I am a sinful man, O Lord. For he was gripped with bewildering amazement [allied to terror], and all who were with him, at the haul of fish which they had made" -Luke 5:4-9 Amplified Bible Classic Edition

It's amazing what happens when we obey God. Peter toiled all night long. Peter had done all that he knew to do. In his own efforts and in his own strength, he was unsuccessful. However, when he acted on the words of Jesus, the miraculous took place. When he ceased operating from his intellect and simply walked in obedience, abundance and increase took place. There is a time to use your intellect, but there is also a time when you must throw that out of the window. Sometimes God may ask you to do something that doesn’t make sense to your natural mind, but out of respect to God, we ought to obey. God will amaze us if we let Him. Our obedience to His Word will open the door to make the miraculous a normal occurrence in our lives.

📖 "But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a dedicated nation, [God's] own purchased, special people, that you may set forth the wonderful deeds and display the virtues and perfections of Him Who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light. [10] Once you were not a people [at all], but now you are God's people; once you were unpitied, but now you are pitied and have received mercy.” -1 Peter 2:9-10 AMPC

God doesn't see us as insignificant. He does not see us as mediocre people. We are a chosen race and God's own special people. We are special because He purchased us by the blood of the Lamb. He sees us as royalty. He chose us because He loves us. It is because of His mercy that we are not consumed. When Adam fell, all of mankind fell. God could have left us in a fallen state, but His love for us wouldn't allow it. Remember you are special. You're not special because of what you have done. You are special because of what He has done. Oh, how He loves you and me.

📖 "Now in the synagogue there was a man who was possessed by the foul spirit of a demon; and he cried out with a loud (deep, terrible) cry, Ah, let us alone! What have You to do with us [What have we in common], Jesus of Nazareth? Have You come to destroy us? I know Who You are—the Holy One of God! But Jesus rebuked him, saying, Be silent (muzzled, gagged), and come out of him! And when the demon had thrown the man down in their midst, he came out of him without injuring him in any possible way. And they were all amazed and said to one another, What kind of talk is this? For with authority and power He commands the foul spirits and they come out!" Luke 4:33-36 Amplified Bible Classic Edition

Jesus is our example. He never feared the devil. He never feared any demon. Jesus knew who He was, and He understood what belonged to Him. He walked in and spoke with authority. He knew that the devil was subject to Him. We have been delegated the same authority, and God expects us to walk in the same authority. He does not expect us to run from the devil, the devil is supposed to run from us. He expects us to experience the same results that Jesus did when He was on the earth. We are in the same family as Jesus. We have the same Father. We have the same authority. We should expect the same victory every time.

📖 "A faithful man shall abound with blessings: but he that maketh haste to be rich shall not be innocent." -Proverbs 28:20 King James Version

There is a Scripture that ask, “a faithful man, who can find?” It’s hard to find faithful people, especially in today’s world. People don’t stay at jobs like they used to. People don’t stay at one church like they once did. People just aren’t as faithful as they once were. God says the faithful shall abound with blessings. The faithful ones are the committed ones, the ones you can always count on. The faithful are consistent. They are consistent in their attendance, their giving, and their effort. How can those types of people not be blessed? One should expect to flourish when they have a history of faithfulness to any organization. If man will take care of faithful, committed people, how much more would our Heavenly Father?

📖 "Oh, the joys of those who do not follow evil men’s advice, who do not hang around with sinners, scoffing at the things of God. But they delight in doing everything God wants them to, and day and night are always meditating on his laws and thinking about ways to follow him more closely. They are like trees along a riverbank bearing luscious fruit each season without fail. Their leaves shall never wither, and all they do shall prosper. But for sinners, what a different story! They blow away like chaff before the wind. They are not safe on Judgment Day; they shall not stand among the godly. For the Lord watches over all the plans and paths of godly men, but the paths of the godless lead to doom.” -Psalm 1 The Living Bible

The godly and the ungodly should not experience the same outcome in life. The plans of the godly will succeed if they align with God's will. The godly should prosper when they delight in doing everything that God wants them to do. When you constantly think about how to get closer to God, it puts you in a position to receive blessings from the Lord. He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him (Hebrews 11:6). Constantly thinking about the laws of God will cause you to be a doer of His Word eventually, and the doer of His Word is blessed (James 1:25). The Word keeps us stable in unstable times. It causes us to prosper when the world is falling apart. It causes us to have a different outcome than the wicked. We have hope because we have a God. God and His Word are one.

📖 "Remember the former things of old, For I am God, and there is no other; I am God, and there is none like Me, Declaring the end from the beginning, And from ancient times things that are not yet done, Saying, ‘My counsel shall stand, And I will do all My pleasure,' Calling a ravenous bird from the east, the man that executeth my counsel from a far country: yea, I have spoken it, I will also bring it to pass; I have purposed it, I will also do it." -Isaiah 46:9-11 King James Version

There are times in our lives when we question whether or not God can get us out of the situation that we are in. We can sometimes question His ability because of how complex the situation appears, and we know that it is too much for us to handle. That is the time to remember our past experiences with God. It's the time to rehearse the victories that we have experienced in the past. There is a time to remember the former things, and there is a time to forget them. It is always a good time to remember how God has brought us through. As we are standing on His Word, we must not forget that if He spoke it, He will bring it to pass. If He has purposed it, we know that He will do it. Nothing is too difficult for our God.

📖 "If you return to the Almighty, you will be built up; You will remove iniquity far from your tents. Then you will lay your gold in the dust, And the gold of Ophir among the stones of the brooks. Yes, the Almighty will be your gold And your precious silver; For then you will have your delight in the Almighty, And lift up your face to God. You will make your prayer to Him, He will hear you, And you will pay your vows. You will also declare a thing, And it will be established for you; So light will shine on your ways." -Job 22:23-28 New King James Version

Sometimes when we mess up, we run away from God. That is never a smart move. When we mess up, we should run TO God. God is our answer. God is the source of our strength and our life. When we turn from iniquity and return to God, we can expect there to be a turnaround in our lives. We can look forward to restoration. We can expect God’s favor and His blessings to come upon us and overtake us. We can exercise our authority without feelings of guilt and condemnation. We can go to God without shame in our lives and expect to be in an overall better place, when we return to our first love. God is so merciful, and He is so good!

📖 "And [the angel] said to me, O Daniel, you greatly beloved man, understand the words that I speak to you and stand upright, for to you I am now sent. And while he was saying this word to me, I stood up trembling. Then he said to me, Fear not, Daniel, for from the first day that you set your mind and heart to understand and to humble yourself before your God, your words were heard, and I have come as a consequence of [and in response to] your words.” -Daniel 10:11-12 Amplified Bible Classic Edition

God hears us when we pray to Him. He desires to fellowship with us and to take care of things that concern us. Daniel had been praying for twenty-one days and finally, an angel appeared and let him know that warfare had taken place, and it hindered the answer from getting to him. The answer was on its way from the first day that he had prayed. We must be patient when it comes to receiving from God. We may not always know what the holdup is, but what we do know is that God is faithful to His Word. We do know that God is watching over His Word to perform it. Having done all to stand, we stand. We must continue to speak the right words and hold fast to our confession of faith. The answer may not come when we want it to, but we know it's coming. Don’t give up! God will come through.

📖 "This is what the Lord says: Prisoners will be freed from mighty men. Loot will be taken away from tyrants. I will fight your enemies, and I will save your children" -Isaiah 49:25 God’s Word

God will deal with those who come against us. He will fight for us. He will never leave us nor forsake us (Hebrews 13:5). He is our Helper and the strength of our lives. He wants to be a part of every area of our lives, even our children. Sometimes children that were raised in Christian homes can get off track. Sometimes they may backslide. The good news is that the Spirit of God can get a hold of them. The Spirit of God will save our children when we cast the care of them over to the Lord. When the children are in the home, we have more control of what they can do for the most part. Once they are living on their own, we must trust God and commit them to Him. Things seem to work out better when they are in His hands than when they are in ours. God knows what to do even when we don’t.

📖 "I answered them, The God of heaven will prosper us; therefore we His servants will arise and build, but you have no portion or right or memorial in Jerusalem." -Nehemiah 2:20 Amplified Bible Classic Edition

When you know that God has told you to do something, and you are obedient to whatever it is He has asked you to do, you can expect the God of Heaven to prosper you. When we are obedient to the Word of God and living a life that is pleasing unto Him, God promises to bless the works of our hands (Deut. 28: 8). The Lord takes pleasure in our prosperity (Psalm 35:27), and it makes Him look good when we are excelling. It makes Him look good when we are the head and not the tail, above only and not beneath. III John 2 even tells us that God wishes above all things that we prosper and be in health, even as our soul prospers. As we walk with God, we can expect our lives to get better and better. 📖 “The sky and the earth (the universe, the world) will pass away, but My words will not pass away. But take heed to yourselves and be on your guard, lest your hearts be overburdened and depressed (weighed down) with the giddiness and headache and nausea of self-indulgence, drunkenness, and worldly worries and cares pertaining to [the business of] this life, and [lest] that day come upon you suddenly like a trap or a noose; For it will come upon all who live upon the face of the entire earth. Keep awake then and watch at all times [be discreet, attentive, and ready], praying that you may have the full strength and ability and be accounted worthy to escape all these things [taken together] that will take place, and to stand in the presence of the Son of Man.” -Luke 21:33-36 Amplified Bible Classic Edition

Jesus is giving us a warning that should cause every believer to be sober about the times we are living in. All of us have the potential to allow our hearts to be overburdened with the cares of this life. If we aren’t careful, we can lose sight of the things that are important and find ourselves in a backslidden condition. We must stay prayed up. We must be alert and attentive. We cannot allow the things of this world to weigh us down to the point that we miss heaven. Prayer is fellowshipping with our Heavenly Father. As we are consistent in our fellowship with Him, it helps us to stay focused and keep the proper perspective on things. It allows us to continue to set our eyes on things that are above. We must continue to seek first the kingdom of God and be about our Father’s business. As we do those things, it will help to keep things in perspective. It will keep us from becoming so earthly minded, that we’re no heavenly good. We must keep our eyes on God.

📖 “The Lord hath heard my supplication; the Lord will receive my prayer.” -Psalm 6:9 King James Version

God answers prayer. Isn’t that comforting to know? When we find ourselves in a tough situation, we can pray and get His Wisdom. When we have a need, we can pray and know that He will meet that need. If we just need someone to talk to, we can go to God knowing that He hears us when we talk with Him. He is a very present help in the time of trouble. He is our shield and buckler. Whatever need we have in this life, we are only a prayer away from receiving from Him. We simply must go to Him in faith, knowing that we have the petitions that we requested of Him. God is always there for us, we simply must go to Him in prayer, knowing He wants to move on our behalf.

📖 “Don’t let all kinds of strange teachings lead you into the wrong way. Depend only on God’s grace for spiritual strength, not on rules about foods. Obeying those rules doesn’t help anyone.” -Hebrews 13:9 Easy to Read Version

We are to hold fast to sound teachings. We are living in the last days, and Paul warned Timothy that people would give heed to seducing spirits and doctrines of devils (I Timothy 4:1). The Word of God should be the stabilizing factor in our lives. It is the anchor for our souls. The Word of God is to be the foundation of our lives. It will keep us when we encounter the storms of life. It will cause us to overcome in every area of our lives. We must stick to the basics of the Word of God and not allow ourselves to be carried away with every doctrine that is popular yet contradicts the Word of God. Paul told Timothy to hold fast to the sound doctrine that he had received since a child. God’s Word never changes. We must stick to what we know. We must hold fast to sound doctrine.

Jehoshaphat found himself in a very tough situation. He was in the middle of a battle, and he was surrounded by the enemy. It did not look good for him. We don’t know the extent of his military training, but we know it would have been one against several from the enemy’s camp. Jehoshaphat did what most of us would have done, he cried out to God for help. God did exactly what Jehoshaphat needed, He helped him. We can learn a lot from Jehoshaphat. When we find ourselves against insurmountable odds, we should cry out unto God. He should be our Shield in the time of trouble. We should look to him knowing that He will rescue us. 📖 “I have given and delivered to them Your word (message) and the world has hated them, because they are not of the world [do not belong to the world], just as I am not of the world. I do not ask that You will take them out of the world, but that You will keep and protect them from the evil one. They are not of the world (worldly, belonging to the world), [just] as I am not of the world. Sanctify them [purify, consecrate, separate them for Yourself, make them holy] by the Truth; Your Word is Truth. Just as You sent Me into the world, I also have sent them into the world." -John 17:14-18 Amplified Bible Classic Edition

God has sent us into the world, and we have been given the ministry of reconciliation. We are to tell the world how much God loves them. It pays to honor the Lord. The psalmist tells us that when we honor God, He will show us which path to take. God will lead us and guide us. When we honor God, we can count on living a good life. Our lives are to get better and better and go from glory to glory. God will not only counsel us, but He will give us insight into His covenant. 📖 “The LORD is my Shepherd [to feed, to guide and to shield me], I shall not want." -Psalm 23:1 AMP

God desires to be our shepherd. He wants to lead us in the way that we should go. He desires to meet every need. Jesus said that God takes care of the birds. If He will take care of the birds, how much more will he do for the His covenant children? God took care of the Israelites in the wilderness. He took care of their food and anything else they needed. Lastly, just like a good Shepherd, He wants to shield us. God is our protector and our fortress. He will protect is from any harm and danger. We must be sure to put ourselves in a position so that He can lead us away from trouble or be able to hear Him when He is trying to warn us. God wants to be the Source of everything good in our lives. Our lives improve as we allow Him to.

📖 “The world of the generous gets larger and larger; the world of the stingy gets smaller and smaller." -Proverbs 11:24 The Message

Do you want your world to expand? Would you like to experience an increase in your finances? You have to be a giver. The more you give, the more you receive. Luke 6:38 tells us that when we give it shall be given to us again, good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over shall men give unto your bosom. That Scripture also tells us that with the measure that you mete, it will be measured to you again. We determine the measure we receive by the measure we give. As we increase our giving, we increase our receiving. This will cause our financial world to get larger and larger. God never intended for us to be dependent on our jobs or anything else. Our dependency is on God. When we are doers of the Word, we reap the blessings that God always intended us to walk in. It is His desire that we become more than we currently are.
