3 John 2 NKJV
Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.
John, an elder in the church, wrote to a brother named Gaius and said to him in his greeting what he could have said to anyone else he may have written to. He believed God wanted to bless Gaius because Gaius was a part of God’s family. To all of us who are a part of God’s family, we can see what God’s will is by reading this greeting. If John did not believe this was God’s will he would not have prayed this prayer for Gaius. John said he prayed that Gaius would prosper in all things and be in health just as his soul prospers. So we can see that God wants us to be successful in everything we do. He wants us to be in health. He wants our souls to prosper. In other words he wants every part of our beings and our lives to be blessed. We must pursue wholeness and success in every area of our lives with the knowledge that the will of God is that we do so. We must not accept defeat in any area. Until we are enjoying prosperity and health in every area of our lives we must see ourselves as being on a journey to get there for the glory of God. Amen
