Deuteronomy 23:5 NKJV
Nevertheless the Lord your God would not listen to Balaam, but the Lord your God turned the curse into a blessing for you, because the Lord your God loves you.
Moses was recounting stories of the experiences of the Israelites as they crossed the wilderness. He was giving instructions to them as well. He was talking to the younger generation, some of whom were born after they left Egypt. In this chapter he tells of a time when a prophet was hired to curse the Israelites. The Lord turned the curse into a blessing because God loved them. It should put a smile on our faces to know that if someone tries to curse us God will turn it into a blessing because He loves us. We can live confidently knowing that no weapon formed against us will prosper. Not only will weapons fail but God will turn things around for our benefit. Oh how grateful we should be that God loves us.
