2 Chronicles 20:21 NKJV

And when he had consulted with the people, he appointed those who should sing to the Lord, and who should praise the beauty of holiness, as they went out before the army and were saying: "Praise the Lord, for His mercy endures forever."

Here is an interesting story of a battle that was fought without the use of conventional weapons. When the enemy came out against the tribe of Judah in this case, King Jehoshaphat put a praise team in front of the army! As they went forward, they sang praises to God and continued to say, "Praise the Lord, for His mercy endures forever." As they celebrated God's mercy, God caused such great confusion in the enemy's camp that they fought against each other. When Judah's army arrived on the scene where they would have expected to engage in warfare, all their enemies were already dead. We can learn the importance and power of praise from this story. We can also see from their choice of words that it is good to remember God's mercy towards us by including recognition of His mercy when we praise.
