Galatians 2:20 NKJV
I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.
Paul talked about identification with Christ. He saw the man he used to be as having been crucified with Christ. The man he was after that was functioning off of the power given to him by Jesus. He said the life he was living while still in his human body was operating by faith in Jesus. He put all his confidence in the Lord being motivated by the love Jesus had for him which was demonstrated by his giving his life for Paul. The same is true for us. Jesus laid down his life for us. The only explanation is love because we could not deserve it or earn it. Our faith in Christ should be powered by our acceptance of His love for us. Because we have seen what He has already done, we should be inspired to trust Him the rest of our lives.
