Luke 19:8 NKJV

Then Zacchaeus stood and said to the Lord, “Look, Lord, I give half of my goods to the poor; and if I have taken anything from anyone by false accusation, I restore fourfold.”

Jesus had come to bring salvation to Zacchaeus’ house. He did not have a problem visiting this sinner’s house because He came to seek and save the lost. Why did God choose Zacchaeus as opposed to someone else. One reason could be because of Zacchaeus’ heart. First, he went out of his way to see Jesus. Then when Jesus came to his house, Zacchaeus showed true repentance. He expressed his willingness to restore what he had stolen from people and give them more than he stole. One of the things we should consider when looking for restoration is whether or not we need to sow seeds of restoration ourselves. Have we defrauded anyone? Do we owe anyone anything? Have we lost or broken something that belonged to someone else? Did we ever get too much change at a store or bank? Anytime we get what we should not get whether intentional or not we need to choose to restore. We need to practice the kind of restoration we want to receive.
