Philemon 1:22 NKJV
But, meanwhile, also prepare a guest room for me, for I trust that through your prayers I shall be granted to you.
Paul, writing to Philemon asked him to prepare a guest room for him as he was expecting to visit Philemon. However, he mentioned that his expectation was based on Philemon’s prayers. This indicates that Paul recognized that some things may not take place without prayer. He also recognized that we must act in faith, showing we are expecting prayers to be answered. So he asked that preparation be made in anticipation of the prayers being answered. Let us not leave things to chance if there is something we desire to happen or believe should happen. If we have reason to believe it is God’s will, it will not just automatically happen. We must pray and then act like we believe our prayers will be answered.
