Ephesians 2:4 NKJV
But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us
Paul wrote about what God did for us when we were still sinners. He made us alive with Christ and raised us up, and made us sit with Jesus in heavenly places. That is something we could not possibly earn. It was extreme. We went from being a sinner to being seated in heavenly places in Christ Jesus after doing nothing but expressing a desire to be saved and placing our faith in Christ. The greatness of God's love for us was made evident by the richness of His mercy. May we be like our Father - rich in mercy because of the great love that flows through us as a result of our decreasing, and Him increasing in us.
