Hebrews 4:16 NKJV

Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.

The author of Hebrews talked about Jesus being our High Priest, and Onewho understands our weaknesses. He suggests that we bear this in mind and come to the throne of God to receive mercy and grace. He refers to that throne as a throne of grace. We can see the connection between grace and mercy. It is because of God's grace that we obtain mercy. We are not just invited to come to the throne of grace, but to come boldly. The boldness comes with the confidence we have. That confidence is a result our knowledge that the blood of Jesus has made the way for us. His blood has qualified us, made us righteous in God's sight, allowing us to enter as if we never sinned. His blood has made us children of the Most High God. Under normal circumstances, a child does not approach his father with hesitancy, no matter who his father happens to be. He could be the king, president or prime minister of a country. All the child thinks about is "That's my dad. He loves me and I'm always welcome to come in wherever he is and sit next to him or sit on his lap." Whenever we need it, which is every day, let us come boldly to the throne of grace, and receive mercy and grace to help us.
