Psalm 85:10 NKJV
Mercy and truth have met together. Righteousness and peace have kissed each other.
Righteousness and peace have kissed each other because they are that close together. Receiving God's righteousness, understanding it, and walking in it contributes significantly to our peace. We must know we have been made righteous by the blood of Jesus. We must understand it is not based on any good works we have done. We must also understand that, in appreciation for the gift of righteousness we should live our lives in a manner that pleases God. We have been recreated or born anew in Christ Jesus to do good works God planned ahead of time for us to do. (See Ephesians 2:10.) Doing the good (righteous) things God planned for us to do will help us live in God's peace.
