Matthew 10:13 NKJV
If the household is worthy, let your peace come upon it. But if it is not worthy, let your peace return to you.
When Jesus sent out His disciples to minister on His behalf, He instructed them to let their peace come upon the households that were worthy. The context indicated that the households who received them and their message were worthy. Those who rejected them were not worthy. It is interesting that Jesus told them to allow their peace to come upon the household. We are to have our own personal peace. It will be a peace God gives us, but we are to see it as a personal possession that we maintain everywhere we go and share it with those we bless. I remember when I was in college, and I believe the Lord instructed me not to leave my dormitory if I was not ready to minister to someone. That meant that I could not leave the dorm if my peace was missing. One day I was leaving and my peace was not with me. My feet turned around toward the dorm and I followed it to the chapel. After I picked up my peace, I proceeded out of the dorm once again, ready to minister to someone if the Lord led me to. That is how we should live every day. Our peace should be like our wallet, keys or driver's license. We just don't go anywhere without it.
