Galatians 5:22 NKJV

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness

We see by this verse that peace is a spiritual fruit. It is important that we know how spiritual fruit is developed. Some people become aware of the fruit of the spirit and try to conduct themselves accordingly. That's a start if we see ourselves lacking in any of those areas. However, our goal is not artificial fruit that we stick on. It will look good, but it is not the real deal. Jesus said He was the vine and we are the branches. He noted that we cannot bear fruit by ourselves.  Unless the branches live in the vine, the only fruit it can display is artificial fruit that is attached . The branches do not produce fruit, they bear the fruit the vine produces. Hence, when we see lack in any area of spiritual fruit, including peace, we are observing how much or how little we are living in the vine. When we are fully connected and living in Christ, constantly drawing juice from our Lord, the Vine, we will automatically yield the fruit of the spirit - no extra effort to do so. So, if our peace is in short supply, let us draw closer and suck juice from the Vine so peace can naturally flow in, and the fruit will be displayed.
