But when the Jews from Thessalonica learned that the word of God was preached by Paul at Berea, they came there also and stirred up the crowds.
Paul was bothered by evil spirits from the unseen realm that stirred up people to fight against him. The same people actually traveled from one place to another to whip up a mob to attack Paul. This lets us know that demons don’t die, they are just recycled. Throughout history and even in our world today, people oppressed by evil spirits are used to stir up crowds to cause trouble. It begins with their dislike for someone or some institution, etc. Many times the people who join the crowd know very little about what is going on. They are not aware that they are driven by an unseen force. They are told what to think and say, and how to act. Then they caught up in a mob for no good reason. We must always be careful about following a crowd. We do not want to come under the influence of evil spirits. This applies to following a crowd to wear a particular fashion, purchase gadgets, toys and other material things, as well as physical gatherings with people who do not know God.
