Jeremiah 17:5 NKJV

Thus says the Lord:“Cursed is the man who trusts in man and makes flesh his strength, whose heart departs from the Lord.

In the dream, the parent insisted that their child get a degree from a prestigous university and the “best” education. The spiritual well-being of the child was overlooked because they saw the secular university as a place that would give them job security. They looked at how prestigous the school was and believed that a degree from there would be beneficial. If we overlook the wickedness of the wicked and place our confidence in their reputation and fame, we run the risk of cursing ourselves. The prophet Jeremiah gave a warning from God for those whose heart turned away from God and chose to put their confidence in what man can do for them. He said they brought a curse on themselves. Let us not insult God by putting confidence in anyone or anything instead of putting our trust totally in Him. When we trust the Lord, we will put a higher value on spiritual things than on natural things.
