Isaiah 61:1-3 NKJV

"The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon Me, Because the LORD has anointed Me To preach good tidings to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty to the captives, And the opening of the prison to those who are bound; [2] To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD, And the day of vengeance of our God; To comfort all who mourn, [3] To console those who mourn in Zion, To give them beauty for ashes, The oil of joy for mourning, The garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; That they may be called trees of righteousness, The planting of the LORD, that He may be glorified."

This passage was prophetic concerning Jesus the Messiah. It says that the oil of joy was to be given to those who were mourning. The first verse says "The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon Me, Because the LORD has anointed Me."Jesus was anointed and so are we. We are members of a supernatural family, and we should not just look for natural solutions to our issues. Sometimes we have failed when we used natural means to deal with problems because they appeared to be natural.  The reason we were unsuccessful was because those natural problems had spiritual roots that needed to be dealt with first. Even when we are dealing with a problem that can be solved naturally, we can fix it faster and better if we tap into our spiritual resources. When it comes to dealing with grief, we must never use only natural means. If grief is not dealt with spiritually and quickly, it can become the root of other disorders. So the oil or anointing and the Holy Spirit should always be incorporated in our solution for mourning, sorrow, grief, etc. When we allow the Holy Spirit and the anointing to help us in our recovery from sorrow, powerful positive results that cannot be explained naturally will come.
