Pro-life group settles with North Carolina county officials
Activists with the organization Love Life have won their case in court. The organization sued Guilford County North Carolina after an incident in March 2020. Members of the pro-life group were peacefully protesting in front of an abortion clinic when they were arrested. Police from both Guilford and Greensboro participated in the arrest of the protestors. The officers claimed the protesters were not in compliance with COVID-19 restrictions as cause for their arrest. According to Love Life, participants were limited to no more than ten for the gathering and were social distancing at the time of the arrest. The group was defended by attorneys with Alliance Defending Freedom. The attorneys claimed their clients First Amendment rights were violated along with their religious liberties. Guilford County has agreed to pay 15-thousand dollars towards the protestors fees and vowed to uphold citizens’ rights if a future COVID order comes out. Attorneys for the protester’s say they commend Guilford County officials for agreeing to respect free speech.
US Truck convoys set to begin inspired by Canadian convoys
The protest convoys by truck drivers in Canada is motivating others around the world. According to reports a group of US truck drivers are now planning a cross country convoy to protest covid mandates. Organizer Brian Brase says the protest is in support of groups still under mandates. Brase says healthcare workers, members of law enforcement, teachers, and military personnel should not be forced to take the covid shot at the risk of losing their jobs. He called the mission a protest against human rights violations. The organizers reported 100-thousands followers on social media before two leaders’ pages were removed. Social media company Facebook claimed the group violated Q’Anon standards. Truckers in the U.S. plan to drive from California to D.C. as part of the protest. Truck drivers in Canada are currently in the capital of Ottawa as part of their freedom convoy. Officials there have now declared a state of emergency and are urging truckers to go home. More protests are reportedly being planned by truck drivers in parts of Europe, New Zealand, and Australia.
Christian promoted to top office in Egyptian Court System
Some good and historic news from the nation of Egypt. The nation’s government has named the first Christian to lead Egypt’s highest court. Judge Boulos Fahmy will be the 19th justice to preside over Egypt’s Supreme Constitutional Court. The previous justice over the court recently retired due to health issues; Fahmy was recently announced as his successor. Experts in Egypt’s judicial affairs called the appointment historic, and a giant move towards political and civil rights in that nation. Coptic Christians make up ten percent of Egypt’s population (102 million)and have been the target of discrimination. The president of Egypt, according to experts is making more efforts to protect and show solidarity with Christians since taking office in 2014.
SNBC Health report: the effects worry on the human body
SNBC Health news segments mainly focus on the best ways to strengthen the human body from the inside out. In this segment we wanted to present what physically happens to the body in this report we are looking at the effects of worry in the body. A recent study released on worry followed middle-aged men, but the results are something everyone can take notice of for their own personal health. Researchers found men who worry were prone to higher risk of heart disease, stroke, and type 2 diabetes. Due to worry and anxiety, certain subjects in the study were diagnosed earlier in life with health issues. The study published in the Journal of the American Heart Association followed primarily middle-aged white men and found those with higher levels of anxiousness and worry had a rise in heart issues and other conditions. A similar study was conducted by the U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs in Boston. Veterans were followed for several years in the study. Researchers found again those who had a high amount of anxiety and worry were at higher risk for heart disease, cancer, or other stress related issues in the body. Health experts advised medicine to treat anxiety however there’s a better to combat worry.

Pfizer has withdrawn its application for developing a covid shot for children under age 5. The application has been dropped due to insufficient data. Also Johnson and Johnson has quietly stopped production of its one dose single shot covid vaccine. The company did not announce why and the end of production was not released, but instead announced by media outlets that discovered the news and released it to the public. SNBC NEWS will report more details on these stories as information is released.
