Anglican church leaders in Africa take stand against Church of England policies
Leaders over Anglican congregations on the African continent have taken a stand against changing policies in the Church of England. Several bishops in the Anglican church released statements following a recent decision in the Church of England. The church recently announced they would allow bishops to bless same-sex civil unions and apologized for past trauma against members of the LGBT community. The vote was concerning these issues on February 9th. The archbishop of Uganda called the Church of England’s actions a depart from the Bible. He continued in his statement that the church cannot bless what God has called sin and says their churches will not walk with the Church of England until they repent. The Archbishop of Kenya called the church’s decision part of the unfortunate rise of devious liberal churchmanship within the Anglican Communion. The Archbishop of Nigeria called for the church to “sweep out the ungodly leadership currently endorsing sin and misleading faithful Anglicans worldwide.” The Church of England’s policy change is similar to more liberal policies in several other Anglican and Episcopal churches around the world including here in the US. Church of England leaders have not commented on the letters and statements from the African Anglican leaders.

Kentucky church sues to have legal fees paid over COVID violation charges
A church in Kentucky is continuing its fight against the state of Kentucky’s government. The court case between Maryville Baptist Church officials and the state of Kentucky stems from COVID restrictions dating back to 2020. Church members were fined during the beginning of lockdowns in that state after attending Resurrection Sunday services. Officials of the state claim the church was in violation for having a drive-in service allowing members to stay in attend while sitting in their cars. The state’s governor ordered police to issue tickets to those in attendance. Attorneys for the church say this action by the state was illegal due to Kentucky’s state congress passing a law limiting the governor’s power over houses of worship. The church wants all legal fees and fines acquired from the last three years to be paid by the state government. The church has won its appeals, but the request for legal fees and other expenses is has so far been denied. The state governor continues to defend his actions saying the restrictions were due to a national health emergency.

Revival at Christian college continues and spreads to other college communities
A revival that swept across a small university in Kentucky is continuing after almost a month. According to reports the praise service began following a normal mid-week service at Asbury University and has continued. The prayers for revival in the US have continued on campus since February 8th. Attendance has grown following students posting about the event on social media. The swell in attendees resulted in campus officials opening several buildings on campus to accommodate visitors. The attendees arriving to the college have hailed from the community of Wilmore, Kentucky where Asbury University is located, different colleges, states, and countries. The college has now officially moved the prayer service off campus after reporting the numbers of attendees coming to the city reaching as high as 50 thousand people. The best part about the students’ prayers for revival in the US; it’s now spreading to other colleges. Officials at four other Christian colleges Lee University, Samford University, Eastern Kentucky University, and Oklahoma Baptist University, are reporting similar events led by students on their campuses. In addition to these colleges there are reportedly three more colleges where officials are reporting students praying for an outpouring of God’s Spirit on their campuses. This brings the total so far to eight colleges and universities involved in student led prayers for revival in our nation.

SNBC HEALTH report: the importance of selecting the right fish oil supplement
This nutrient is popular as a supplement because of the health benefits. Cold-water fatty fish is a good source of Omega 3 fatty acids. This is a nutrient important to heart health as well as other parts of the body.
The problem with the popularity of fish oil, is the number of artificial supplements on the market. Some nutritionists claim most fish oil supplements on the market may not be authentic. The best way to acquire omega-3 fatty acids is through consuming fish. If you are unable to do this here are some tips to look for when purchasing fish oil supplements. Organic is always best when shopping for a supplement. The FDA still requires certain standards in order for products to be considered organic. This means certain artificial additives would be prohibited, giving you a better chance of finding authentic fish oil supplements. Read the nutritional label and check for the amount of fish oil per capsule. When looking at the label look for product’s purity level and its authenticity which are ways to check for high quality supplements. The shelf life of the supplement may also be a clue. Keep in mind it is a perishable food item due to being derived from fish. This may help when you are looking for a more pure fish oil supplement.

CDC allows COVID-19 shot added to children’s vaccine schedule
Unlicensed COVID-19 shots will now be added to the U.S. childhood, adolescent and adult vaccine schedules. The announcement came  after a unanimous vote by the CDC’s Prevention Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP). The addition of this shot to the vaccine schedule paves the way for U.S. schools to require them for students to attend. The shot requirement was also added to the Vaccine for Children (VFC) program. This program provides vaccines to children at no or low cost using federal funding. Pfizer and Moderna, the shots’ makers, will enjoy permanent legal protection against injuries occurring from COVID-19 shots. This protection will extend to any other pandemic jabs under the Public Readiness and Emergency Preparedness (PREP) Act, passed in the U.S. in 2005. Even though COVID-19 shots have been added to the childhood vaccine schedule, so far, they haven’t been mandated for school attendance in most states. COVID-19 shots are mandatory for students in California and Washington, D.C. Governors from several states, have already spoken out, vowing not to mandate COVID-19 shots for school children. Among these states are Florida, Tennessee, Oklahoma and Alabama. According to a poll taken in 2021, 60% of U.S. parents opposed adding COVID-19 shots to the list of required shots for school. Many countries around the world have already walked back their recommendations to give COVID-19 shots to children. Most governments expressed concerns that it may cause deadly side effects and are far less effective than promised. In January 2022, Sweden’s Health Agency recommended against COVID-19 jabs for kids aged 5 to 11, stating the benefits do not outweigh the risks. Denmark also no longer recommends COVID-19 shots for children under 18, and in September 2022, England announced it would no longer offer COVID-19 shots to children unless they’re high risk. A CDC briefer was asked how the CDC could add an unlicensed vaccine to the schedule. The briefer in essence replied, “We checked with the Office of General Counsel, and they said it was okay.” However, the day before the ACIP vote, Dr. José Romero, the CDC’s director of the National Center for Immunization and Respiratory Diseases, said that the CDC was not adding COVID-19 shots to the childhood schedule.

Church of England contemplates gender neutral names for God and Jesus
The Church of England is considering more controversial changes to its church policy. According to a recent article the Church of England is considering referring to God and Jesus in a gender-neutral manner. The change was requested for investigation by high-ranking diocese official in the church. The request by the official asked for a new project to research in order to “find a more inclusive language and speak of God in a non-gendered way.” The article released in the Washington Time received criticism from conservatives, including those within the Church of England. Following the criticism, a spokesperson claimed there are no plans to refer to God and Jesus as gender neutral. The spokesperson added that such a change would require lengthy legislation and votes within the church. The Church of England has changed its policies in the past few years to appease its more liberal, LGBT friendly congregations. Officials in that church recently allowed the blessing of same-sex civil unions by bishops and issued an apology to the treatment of LGBT parishioners in their congregations. The church has seen resistance from its more conservative churches and from the Anglican church which is affiliated with the Church of England.

NEWSMAX dropped by AT&T causes widespread boycotts
Viewers of the conservative news network NEWSMAX are protesting the network being dropped by AT&T's DirecTV. According to Newsmax officials, the network's signal was cut in late January. This immediately shut the network off from more than 13 million customers of the satellite service, DirecTV Stream, and U-Verse. This is the second time in the past year AT&T has cancelled a conservative channel, with DirecTV. AT&T deplatformed One America News or OAN last April. The move was made despite Newsmax being the 4th highest-rated cable news channel in the nation, a top 20 cable news channel overall, and watched by more than 40 million Americans through cable, significant online platforms, apps, its social media network, as well as radio and print outlets. DirecTV said it was taking the step as a "cost-cutting" measure and would never pay Newsmax a cable license fee. DirecTV pays cable license fees to all top 75 cable channels and to all 22 liberal news and information channels it carries. Almost all of these channels are paid hefty license fees significantly more than Newsmax was seeking. The decision to remove Newsmax was made despite most of the other news channels drawing  much lower ratings than Newsmax. The CEO of the network called the cancellation, "a blatant act of political discrimination and censorship against Newsmax,”. The reaction from conservatives and supporters has been swift. Forty-one Republican congressmen sent a letter to the CEOs of AT&T, DirecTV, and hedge fund TPG Capital,  stating they are deeply concerned about this undemocratic assault on free speech, and warned of hearings. About the same time, the Biden administration speedily approved AT&T's proposed $43 billion merger of its Warner Media division with Discovery.  Since the removal of Newsmax from DirecTV, tens of thousands have expressed their displeasure. Some have sold their stock, cancelled both DirectTV, as well as AT&T cell phone  and internet services. Those protesting are demanding that both Newsmax and OAN be reinstated immediately.  AT&T stock has lost $10 billion in value since the Jan. 2 5th removal of the network, and according to market analysts, underperforming in the stock market.

National museum apologize for treatment of pro-life student group
The nationally renowned Smithsonian has apologized for an incident involving a pro-life student group from South Carolina. According to various reports, students from Our Lady of the Rosary School in Greenville, South Carolina were harassed by the staff of the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum. According to parents and students, the group wore bright blue sweater caps with the school’s name and the words pro-life in big letters (the students were in Washington, D.C. for the recent March for Life Rally). The group was told they had to remove the caps, or they would have to leave the museum.
The groups say they were continuously harassed. The staff claimed the museum was a neutral zone and the hats were a political statement. Parents and chaperones say the caps were being worn to distinguish its group from others. The ACLJ (American Center for Law and Justice) filed a federal lawsuit on behalf of a student and three parents concerning the incident. A representative for the museum apologized saying the museum’s security mistakenly targeted the students for their attire.

Pope Francis is now weighing in on a moral debate criticizing laws that criminalize homosexuality. The pope claims these kinds of laws are unjust.
