Persistence is a great character trait when it is used in the right way. Unfortunately for Samson, Delilah’s persistence cost him. She had been asking him the secret to his strength, and he had lied to her several times. However, she persisted and after asking him day after day, he finally relented and told her the secret to his strength. Later she set Samson up, and he ended up losing his hair, his strength, his sight, and his anointing. The devil is the same way. He will be persistent in trying to steal, kill, and destroy in your life. We must out-persist the devil. We must persist until we wear down Satan’s resistance, and he has no choice but to flee. Persistence can be good, and it can be bad. Let us persist in resisting the evil one. Let us persist until we have all that God says that we can have, and we are doing what God says we can do.
