In this passage, Jesus is speaking. He is our example...our model. Notice His attitude in reference to the will of God. He says that He does not seek His own will. He goes on to say that He has no desire to do what is pleasing to Himself, He only desired the will of God. That must be our posture as well. We should only desire God’s will for our lives. We only desire to get His orders so that we can carry them out. True fulfillment can only come through walking out the Father’s orders. He always knows what is best for us. Let us be like Jesus. Let’s seek the will of God for our lives. His thoughts are higher than our thoughts, and His ways are higher than ours (Isaiah 55:11).
